As usual, Batter is out of his element—after having a conversation with the Judge about how to proceed further in the Zones, he managed to venture outside of his file, doomed to end up wherever his aimless wandering takes him. He remembers the cat regarding him with suspicion, mentioning something about how there was a “lack of a puppeteer” to guide him on his journey.
He said he was better off without on. The cat laughed, and Batter didn’t know why.
Now, he was stuck in a place that appeared to be a desert of some sort. None of the Zones have this sort of feel to them—he knows of deserts, but had never actually encountered one. Maybe this is just a slight detour and he will find his way back to Zone 1 fairly soon. That is, he believes that up until he notices a looming beast in the distance.
He reaches for his bat out of instinct, unsure of what to make of such a creature. Something seems familiar to him about it—perhaps it’s the way it carries itself, perhaps it’s the way that it’s dressed—so he does not attack him quite yet. There will be a time for it, he’s sure.
However, it is true that this creature is taller than he anticipated.
“Ah. This doesn’t appear to be a spectre of any kind,” he says to himself, looking up at him. Batter assumes the creature cannot understand him. “Still quite monstrous, but doesn’t seem to pose a threat, although it is impure…”
Something about it is holding him back from purifying it right then and there, and unfortunately, he cannot pinpoint what that something is.
His own world in contrast to the other “files” were more “environmental”. Dedan’s domain was full of caves and mountains, Japhet’s resided in plains and fields, Enoch’s in the marshes and swamps, and finally, his counterpart and son ruled the ocean and skies. To him, it was all natural, or at least his domain was the most natural.
The other rulers had taken to industry and damaging the earth so that hideous towers could be made. Instead of living within the environment, the subjects of the other lands stayed huddled with one another, working over and over for no natural purposes. It was all a hideous idea to the tall beast.
But he shouldn’t focus on his rage for now. After all, if he was to get mad, he’d put his anger on the visitor.
Ten feet of inky darkness stood proudly on the sands, analyzing the other tentatively. He was not that tall as the other creatures in his realm, though taller than those puppeteers he had made contact with. It was puzzling, though, how white this man was. Really strange.
Stranger yet (or insultingly), the guy didn’t realize that Yama knew everything he said. Too bad language barriers made it difficult for him to speak back. He growled quietly, then open his mouth.
“The same, to you.”
@badbatter
It was unclear whether or not he knew where his path was going at this point. He had yet made contact with anyone or anybody in his own realm, and it had been what felt like eons since he last spoke to those outside of this world. The former king had not even realized that such a possibility existed, that is until he met those puppeteers from “other files”.
The concept of files was still odd to him. Fake even. After all, Yama had been in these plains for eons, and he never set foot out of them. Perhaps others, these “alien file goers” were under a poor hallucination after treading the desert that he lived in. Perhaps the heat fried their minds to insanity, gasping for water that no longer existed after those disgusting ‘guardians’ ripped them from his domain.
Until he can round up his original puppeteer, the monstrous batter could only wait, his feet planted into the sand. Though, oddly enough he heard footsteps in the distance. Out of curiosity, he moved closer to the sound. He couldn’t see the source of it, but he definitely found the smell. The creature did not speak though, knowing the previous entities he had met and how they did not understand his tongue, he felt that it was useless.
All he did now was loom over the shorter being, for some reason, they seemed familiar, yet totally new. Different.

"Hey Batter I got some fresh meat come eat with me!”
Immediately the batter zips to the sand to the Merchant. There's a grin on his face (as usual) as he settles on the ground, ready for a snack.

noirbatter's (This Batter’s) Sucre
Blinking for a moment the other’s hand was removed from your face, you rubbed your nose- maintaining what ‘eye’ contact you had with him originally; mainly his grin.
"I … suppose if I had to. It’s not that I don’t like my original Batter but … I guess ‘defected’ could be the word. He always seemed kind of strange. Then again a lot of purifiers vary from another yeah?"
None were quite the same atleast. You’ve met your fair share of purifiers that were the generic stoic type- then some who had more to themselves. You rubbed your arm, a quick glance away before looking back at the other- were both of your Batter’s acquanted with each other yet? Perhaps.
"<....I guess.>"
His grin started to falter as he evaluated the puppeteer's words in his mind. For some reason, the fact that shorter male seemed so casual about the defected puppeteer was starting to aggravate him. Rather then making it too obvious, Yama simply took a few steps back, claws still hidden out of view.
Perhaps he should try a different set of words to get some sort of emotion (instead of the still obvious nervousness) of this player. The taller creature tilted his head to the side, his mouth barely parted.
"<Even if he was strange, perhaps it'll be in everyone's best interests that you...eradicate him? If he's a defect, it would be unfortunate if he went and attacked a puppeteer even weaker than you are. Unecessary gore if you ask me.>"
Standing still she allowed him to identify her scent as he pleased. It was a moment she took to inspect him as well, trying to discern whatever distinguishing features she could pick out from his inky dark skin. Aside from his cheshire grin, of course.
Regardless he did not mind her presence, and she was content in knowing that.
"Bleak?" There was a hint of surprise in her tone, stealing a moment to gaze at the arid scenery once more.
"Mm…I cannot say I agree with those people. Of all the lands I have seen this is one of the few that drastically differ from the rest. Others are typically flat, monotonous environments dominated by man-made uniform structures. Plants and objects that stray too far from the elements are rare."
She shifted her feet, if only to feel the sand shift beneath them. "If they describe your land as feral, I suppose a fair comparison would be to call others sterile, or at the very least restrictively minimalistic."
With observation to his entirety, the puppeteer would be able to see the edges and points of the batter's body. Like the file, or more specifically, his land, there was some sort of neat edge and poise to the design despite how wild it was. He was comparable to a beast, and if not for the game's "translation", she might as well thought he sounded like one.
She did not, fortunately. Despite how much of a contrast she had to his file. To Yama, she was more likeable than most other puppeteers. She stood short as compared to his file mates, wore more clothes than it was necessary, and was composed. Different, but definitely bearable.
With a nod, Yama, raising an arm, pointed towards the mountains that stood tall in the desert, along with the prairies that laid serene in a faraway distance. The clouds above them continued to swirl with the wind, as sand would be carried in the air until they would fall back to the light grounds beneath their feet.
"<Really now? The elements in this file, or so I heard, are strictly used for the guardian's factories and enterprises...>"
The taller creature knelt to the ground, scooping sand within his claws as he felt the heat began to leave as it sifted through his fingers. A small chuckle left between the batter's teeth as his head moved towards her direction.
"<The only people who truly depend on the elements are them only. The workers and opportunists for nothing but careless and selfish desires. The elements themselves are just perverted forms of the environment around you and I.>"
He rose again, his arm that held the sand and dirt before still stretched out. Seeming to 'stare off' into the sky while mumbling to himself. He still knew she was there, and made the notice as his hand hovered over where he thought her head would be.
"<Yes. Man made, and minimalistic are the...right terms to compare to my 'feral file'>"

The ten foot batter only stands still as he felt foreign fingers pet his abdomen. He cocks his head to the side.
"<…?>"

"No not at all. Neither of them. I helped with the mission multiply times just … after the first he was pretty keen on the whole. Pure thing. Said I was impure and well- tried to kill me."
You didn’t take much to the lamb comment. Not that it was an insult but- hey you probably were weak. You kept your eyes though on the other; not really sure why his hand was still on you but, you didn’t plan on moving any time soon anyway.
"I’m sure as hell he knows he shouldn’t kill me, but he’ll persist. My other Batter though, completely different. Treats me like a God, it’s … kind of weird."
"<Yes. It is odd.>"
Finally disinterested in fooling around with the shorter male, his hand moved back, joining the other behind his back.
The fact that the puppeteer had two batters was odd on its own, even though he never thought about it before. Though, the fact that the two contrasted one another peaked the taller being's interest. He grinned a wider grin at the puppeteer.
"<If your former puppet has become defected, you can use your other batter as protection, no? Surely he'll be a much more capable partner.>"
It was not until she saw a shadow longer than her own cast along the ground that she realized she was no longer alone. It was worrisome to a degree, having not heard a sound around her that was not her own, but she turned regardless to see what exactly it was.
…Ah, how peculiar.
Craning her head back to gaze up at the tall creature she could only presume it was the Batter. The cap of the sportsman was an unmistakable trademark. Though before she could spend any more time eyeing him the sound of his voice hit her ears. It was…strange. Hard to describe. She had never heard anything like it before, and yet somehow she still understood every word. Perhaps it was the file’s doing…?
"I do not need anything," She answered honestly, turning her head to gesture towards the scenery. "I was only exploring out of curiosity. I hope my presence here has not disrupted anything, dear Batter."
There was no doubt his figure was imposing, dwarfing her in size with fangs clear as day, but she was calm. It was her job to guide men with forms of all shapes and sizes, whether they had multiple eyes or sharp fangs or otherwise. She could only assume this was another variation.
Her assumption that he was of purifier was correct. Even if not for his uniform, the puppeteer would be able to recognize his status by deciphering the puppet's language. It was a factor of the game after all.
Even so, the fact that the puppeteer understood Yama immediately allowed the batter to make a short sound of approval before returning to his regal behavior. He leaned even closer to the other, taking a deep whiff of her body to create some sort of vision of the other in his mind. When satisfied, he pulled back, the cheshire grin still painted on his face.
She seemed harmless enough.
The taller being brought a clawed finger to his own jawline. Tracing the bone nonchalantly as he spoke again in his deep rumbles.
"<Not at all. Frankly, I am more amused that you're interested in this land.>"
He paused, crooking his head to the side. His smile dissapeared and returned in seconds.
"<Most people...seem to take this land as bleak or even feral--It's a treat to find someone interested in my kingdom's setting.>"

"Well— a-ah you see the thing is, like … "
This was certainly a weird thing. You fix your glasses a bit- a bit crooked from the other’s finger tracing your face. Luckily you manage to calm down a little bit.
"Yeah I-I guess it is true that my purifiers would be uh, ‘linked’ with me but my first one didn’t much take a liking to me after he finished his mission … T-to put it plainly, well; he tried to kill me. And that was uh …”fun" … heh … "
Yama's claw never left the puppeteer's face, rather it stayed there while he spoke. This way he can make sure the other won't suddenly flee and if he does start acting like a nervous child the purifier can always reassure him otherwise.
"<From little that I know of you, I can only assume it's because you didn't make it clear that he wasn't allowed to kill you. You give off the appearance of being weak, like a lamb.>"
There was silence in the air until Yama spoke again, his tone becoming foreboding. He won't do anything vicious to the puppeteer, but just to make sure...
"<...Unless, you've decided against his mission.>"
