Samsung Note 8 no cellular signal
Had an issue with my dad’s Note 8 not getting cellular signal. Couldn’t make phone calls and had no internet. Wifi worked fine. I contacted T-mobile and Samsung. Was afraid that it was a hardware issue, but thankfully it wasn’t. I just wanted to post something on here to hopefully save someone some time and hassle.
I swapped the sim card into a different phone to make sure it wasn’t the sim card. Sim card worked fine. I reset network settings but that didn’t fix the issue.
Samsung had me wipe the partition. Sounds scary. Instead of going through the steps, here’s the link to a video on how to do it. You won’t (shouldn’t anyway) lose any data. It’s not a factory reset. Your mileage will vary though of course so there’s your disclaimer.

The signal showed up briefly but then disappeared again. The Samsung rep wanted me to take it somewhere to get the hardware checked. I was also chatting with the T-mobile rep at the same time. She had me go into the wifi call setting and change the setting to cellular network preferred. Voila! Cellular signal was back. All because of that one little stupid setting. I don’t know why that setting would or should completely turn off cellular signal. Seems like a bug.
In any case, if you run into this issue, hopefully this works for you and you don’t waste time getting the hardware checked out when it’s a software issue.Â
So depressing.
Immigrants aren't taking all the jobs and money. Look up, not down.
Can't stand Ted Cruz
Why is this taking so long?
"... T-Mobile is expecting to cover a million square miles by the end of 2017. But the 600MHz network uses a brand-new LTE channel, Band 71, and very few devices support it yet. Sadly for T-Mobile, you can’t add the iPhone 8 or iPhone X to that list." The LG V30 will support the new band.
Well, this guy can go straight to hell.
Spot on. Wish more people could've seen this before the election.

He makes a great point. We, the people, need to take some responsibility for allowing this to happen. We allow it.Â
Sean Spicer don't speak too good, especially for a guy whose job it is to speak good.
I wish the U.S. would follow suit. We would undoubtedly have to rethink pet ownership but that's a good thing. It's far too easy to own a pet.
