Cole is doing very well. Nobody’s tried to overthrow him since the whole Ras thing, Kai hasn’t come back to try and kill him, so it seems to be lookin up. Not only that, our kid has had some sort of weird DNA transplant the pink Imperium girl performed, so he’s extra our son! He’s got this great bit tail and horns and he looks absolutely wonderful.

If you walk in there with only glamour, all the oni would be able to sniff you out. If you disguise your scent, there is still a decent few old oni that can look through glamour.
Yeah I was thinking that'd be best... Probably Percy. Or maybe Lloyd too. Sora's also probably a good idea, she knows what to do in these kinds of situations because ah... Conduit thing.
Hm. I’m honestly not sure. If I smell Sora, Lloyd, or your Cole, I can smell the dragon on them, but mostly because they hang out with dragons. I can’t tell if the smell is dragon, or source dragon.
and since source dragons can also take on different forms, it’s likely they could become Source Oni as well. Hm. Juries still out on that one.
What kind of things would Source Oni represent, then? Uh. Hm...
If Oni are the opposing force to Dragon, then wouldn't that mean each Oni would be an opposite to a Dragon? Like uh... A Source Oni of Chaos to oppose the Source Dragon of Focus?
No…from what I understand, the source dragons are able to manipulate form at will. I was taught they aren’t really dragons, dragons are just painted as far more benevolent, and therefore that’s the form they take. The source dragon of Strength could just as easily become a source Oni.
... Wait does this imply that the Sources are just... That? Sources? And that they could give elemental powers to anyone and anything?

Can Oni have elemental powers? Or is that... Not really a thing? I've heard that Devonians are a subspecies of Oni and that they can have elemental powers, but can Oni themselves hold elemental powers?
The whole…elemental powers for oni thing is weird. I’ll explain how it works, at least in my universe. Might not be the same for you.
in my timeline of events, an elemental power works kind of like a restraint. A leash. Elemental masters are strong, but never *too* strong. Without effects like Nya’s merging with the sea thing. Elemental masters have borrowed power, and however long the leash is, it always leads back to a source dragon. The source dragons do not chose who gains their elements. All other elemental master rules (familial descent, no two same masters at once) still apply here.
the oni reject this. And they have for centuries. One way or another, they’ve managed to magically program themselves into being largely incompatible with elements. They reject this leash, this upper limit on strength, which is no suprise. There are anomalies, to some degree. Lloyd. Wu, Garmadon, myself. But none of us are 100% oni, and even Garmadon lost his element during his unfortunate reancarnation.
there…is a downside, of course. Oni ultimately just have a different upside to strength, which is madness. If an Oni ever becomes too powerful, they go mad, and their power consumes them completely. Now that I think about it…it’s a little like Merge Sickness. An Oni must be incredibly powerful for this to happen though. The most prominent example of this is the former Warlord of Hate. It’s a very horrible fate to meet.
I experienced this somewhat during my tournament of elements. I had what, five? Elements? I nearly went mad. Kind of. It wasn’t the skin-melting power-exploding madness the warlord before me felt, it was more…my head was going to explode madness. I forfeit for that reason, just wasn’t safe.
Ooh... Okay. So if they work like that, but also I'm a... Tricky case. I'm like 33.34% Imperian, 33.33% oni, and 33.33% wolf right now. At least, that's the metrics Sora gave me. If I were to somehow gain an elemental power then does that mean that I would be resistant to this whole oni madness thing?

I don’t think you’ll go mad. It’ll take hundreds if not thousands of years for you to gain that level of oni strength, and chances are you’ll inherit my element by then, which would protect you completely. Don’t—stress about it

She quickly leapt out of the way before Percival rammed into her, but the sheer force of his movement nearly landing a hit on her made her fall back harshly.

Percival managed to throw her directly into a rock, letting it shatter. She grunted, forcing herself up despite her lungs being on fire. She continued to comment as the two fought.
Your strength got increased quite drastically because you're subconsciously tapping into that trace amounts of power-
She moved out of the way again, rolling onto her side before getting up. She quickly caught his leg, throwing her own punch as he dodged.
Reflexes are around the same level, so is movement but each impact is drastically stronger. The genes were to only give it a 10% increase but this is more around 34% of a power increase!
Sora forced herself out of range, catching her breath. Percival quickly called a motion to call off the fight.

Thunderfang didn’t just give them borrowed power, he *gave* them their elements. I have…no idea on how that could translate into a child.
Nokt has had many years to train his body for his element. This could…end badly, I fear.
Then I'll keep a close watch on his powers. But if this is anything like the Chaos Beyond that TK told me about, then I'll try and see what I could do.
No, Percival is not at a risk of dying. His strength is just drastically... More, than before. Not a bad thing! His body is stable and capable of holding this much energy inside it, but it'd be best for him to learn how to use his element and try to figure out what it exactly does.

Reflexes are around the same level, so is movement but each impact is drastically stronger. The genes were to only give it a 10% increase but this is more around 34% of a power increase!

To be honest... No. It just caught me off guard. It looks unstable because chaos energy naturally appears unstable, and paired with the destruction aspect I was kinda fearing the worst...

Thunderfang didn’t just give them borrowed power, he *gave* them their elements. I have…no idea on how that could translate into a child.
Nokt has had many years to train his body for his element. This could…end badly, I fear.
Then I'll keep a close watch on his powers. But if this is anything like the Chaos Beyond that TK told me about, then I'll try and see what I could do.

If you walk in there with only glamour, all the oni would be able to sniff you out. If you disguise your scent, there is still a decent few old oni that can look through glamour.

Hm. I’m honestly not sure. If I smell Sora, Lloyd, or your Cole, I can smell the dragon on them, but mostly because they hang out with dragons. I can’t tell if the smell is dragon, or source dragon.
and since source dragons can also take on different forms, it’s likely they could become Source Oni as well. Hm. Juries still out on that one.

No…from what I understand, the source dragons are able to manipulate form at will. I was taught they aren’t really dragons, dragons are just painted as far more benevolent, and therefore that’s the form they take. The source dragon of Strength could just as easily become a source Oni.

The whole…elemental powers for oni thing is weird. I’ll explain how it works, at least in my universe. Might not be the same for you.
in my timeline of events, an elemental power works kind of like a restraint. A leash. Elemental masters are strong, but never *too* strong. Without effects like Nya’s merging with the sea thing. Elemental masters have borrowed power, and however long the leash is, it always leads back to a source dragon. The source dragons do not chose who gains their elements. All other elemental master rules (familial descent, no two same masters at once) still apply here.
the oni reject this. And they have for centuries. One way or another, they’ve managed to magically program themselves into being largely incompatible with elements. They reject this leash, this upper limit on strength, which is no suprise. There are anomalies, to some degree. Lloyd. Wu, Garmadon, myself. But none of us are 100% oni, and even Garmadon lost his element during his unfortunate reancarnation.
there…is a downside, of course. Oni ultimately just have a different upside to strength, which is madness. If an Oni ever becomes too powerful, they go mad, and their power consumes them completely. Now that I think about it…it’s a little like Merge Sickness. An Oni must be incredibly powerful for this to happen though. The most prominent example of this is the former Warlord of Hate. It’s a very horrible fate to meet.
I experienced this somewhat during my tournament of elements. I had what, five? Elements? I nearly went mad. Kind of. It wasn’t the skin-melting power-exploding madness the warlord before me felt, it was more…my head was going to explode madness. I forfeit for that reason, just wasn’t safe.
