Apparently there are 4 questions

that are supposed to help determine if someone is burned out. I just answered yes to all 5. Nope, not a typo. I just didn’t think the 4 questions fully captured it.

A little over a year ago, I had a shoulder problem that basically meant I couldn’t use my left arm very well. Things I had taken for granted were sudden extremely difficult. Things like washing my hair became a challenge with one hand. I had to stop and think and analyze and concentrate to do a number of things but it was a blessing in many ways. I had to be resourceful and creative, and it certainly reminded me what it is like to be a beginner at something which is an excellent lesson in empathy.

Today just spend a few minutes doing an activity with your non-dominant hand. So if you usually write with your right hand, grab a pen with your left hand and write “Have a nice day” and draw a smiley face on a piece of paper. It will likely be kind messy, but that’s OK. We aren’t going for perfection, we are going for a new perspective.

Very excited to finally get to read the whole thing. Not every win is epic. Each day you tackle tons of small tasks and overcome mini and not so many obstacles. Each day you can make progress toward bigger achievements. That progress should be recognized. Doing so will help you to stay motivated to complete larger goals and will aid in developing better habits.

Today’s mission is to celebrate a small win and, if possible, capture yourself doing the celebration. That could mean giving yourself a high-five when you cross that icky item off of your to do list first thing, or standing up and saying “Go Me” after you solve a problem, or just finding a fun GIF that displays how you feel about your accomplishment.
