Son of Irisse the white lady of the Noldor and Nelyafinwë Maitimo AKA Maedhros and grandson of Fëanor and Fingolfin both.  Honest, Good-Natured, Well-Spoken, and Fair.  The Mun and Muse are both 30+. Age: He had counted 85 summers as of the year he learned his mother had been killed.  He was 195 the year Gondolin fell.

Significant Past

Before coming to Himring Nolya was subject to much of Eol’s hatred and anger toward the Noldor.  He was often denied food, kept from his mother, and physically harmed.

Living with:  He lives with his father Nelyo and the people of Himring.

Body Type:  Very tall and sleek muscled

Eyes:  Bright Silver with the slightest hint of Blue

Hair:  Dark Red / Wine Red

Skin:  Fair, though not as pale as Nelyo

Facial Expression:  He has an open, honest face that tends toward always looking a bit wary.

Grooming:  Always well groomed.  Nolya hates being dirty.

Accessories:  Silver hair charm from Irisse.  Twin blades made by Curvo and gifted to him by Nelyo.  Later a golden ribbon gifted to him from Finno.

Distinctive Features:  Other than his height and hair, Nolya is extremely pretty or beautiful.  He tends to avoid (or not notice) the attention of others, fearing most others mean him harm for one reason or another.

Speech & Communication

Languages:  Nolya can speak Quenya (both the Feanorian and the more common Noldorian) and Sindarin as well as the common tongue and Dwarvish.

Accent:  Born in Nan Elmoth to Irisse who was forbidden to speak Quenya aloud, Nolya’s common, Dwarvish, and Quenya all have a hint of a Sinda accent.

Pitch/Timber:  He has a soft, gentle sounding voice unless someone manages to anger him.

Literacy Level:  Nolya loves learning and it shows in his desire to try new things.  His tutors had little to complain about when it came to teaching him his lessons, the biggest complaint being that he tended toward daydreams and little sketches.

Sense of Humor:  Nolya enjoys jokes and pranks if they are not unkind or cruel, and normally has an easy smile for others he is close to.

Show or Hide Emotions?  When he was little and first come to Himring, Nolya had a hard time controlling his emotions.  He would become easily frightened or overwhelmed, and would go into hiding for fear of punishment.  As he grew he learned to trust others close to him, but he never completely got over the need to hide how he was feeling.

Earliest:  Irisse singing to him or telling him tales.

Nolya strives for perfection in all he does.  Pretending and performing perfection in order to avoid shame and judgement.  This is not actually self-improvement.  Nolya seeks approval from others.  By presenting a “perfected” image, Nolya believes he is hiding his insecurities and fears from the world around him.

When he is made to feel vulnerable, he backs out, pretends he doesn’t care, or simply pretends it is not happening at all.  Hiding out, avoiding, procrastination, rationalizing, blaming, and lying, all of which involves more energy the facing the problem.  The energy he spends avoiding his vulnerabilities is greater than what he would spend if he simply faced and dealt with his insecurities and vulnerabilities.

The little elf ran back over to Laurë with his haul and smiled up into her face. "Come on." he whispered. "I won't get in no trouble if you're with me. We can run all the way to Nan Elmoth an get Amme. We can even take uncle Curufin and uncle Celegorm and their doggie!"

He slung the bag of goodies over he back before gripping into he fur in an attempt to climb back up. "We can take Atya too! I can tell him my plan. He'll be super proud an excited, I bet."

He wouldn't get in trouble because she would, she knew that well enough just by how much Maedhros watched her when she was around his son. Curufin and Celegorm would be helpful, though she would much rather Maedhros' permission and company for this type of mission.

Her fur was going to be sticky after this and she'd most definitely need a bath before it matts. When his father was mentioned, she instantly perked up, yes, they will certainly go to him immediately.

The tiny elfling sat astride the large dog, his puppy, and grinned around like he was some great warrior like his Atya. He just knew he could save his momma if they would only let him try. He had lived in Nan Elmoth for a very long time to his mind. Shouldn’t that mean he could take his daddy and uncles to his momma?

“Don’t worry puppy.” He called brightly, “I packed us some jerky too! So, if you can’t hunt for us. I can still feed us both.” He giggled happily, not even minding that she was heading to find his dad instead of leaving straight away. “Daddy says little elves can’t live on sticky buns alone.”

Fingon had not been easy to save. Wrestled upon the back of a horse, desperate to go back, to continue the fight or find his Feanorion.

Turgon did not let him.

He had lost a brother, a sister, a wife, and a father already. He would not lose his last brother. He would not leave his king to die.

The further they went from the battlefield, the further from the mire of blood and the red banners, the stiller that Fingon became. Turgon feared that his brother was fading, that his fëa would flee across the Sea.

And so he talked to him.

Told him tales of Idril, of the ridiculous things that his Lords had done since building Gondolin, of Maeglin and that nephew he did not even know he had.

Slowly, life returned to Fingon. Slowly colour returned to his skin and warmth to his limbs.

His eyes picked up the path to Gondolin. Turgon knew they would, ever had his brother been the better tracker.

It was not until they reached the square before the Tower of the King, until even as Idril greeted them both with a smile and words far less formal than they should have been. Until Turgon noticed Fingon taking in every elf and stone of the city with the eye of a general, that he realised something he should have the moment he placed Fingon on a horse.

Gondolin would not be staying hidden for long.

When his taller than life sire sits down the small elf can barely contain his excitement as he runs over and climbs up onto the offered knee. He looks up into his father's face with an expression of love and near hero worship. Long forgotten are the days when the scars or growling voice scared him.

"I did work hard today." he tells him as he offers another wide grin. "First I had to tell the soldiers where they were to patrol tonight. And then I had to see that the ref-u-gee's," this word was still hard to him, but his speech had gotten much better since he had been working with Atya, "had food and were sheltered. And I checked that the food stores were still okay for the winter."

He wiped his brow with one arm, "I am fair beat and have not even taken my meal." This was a glaring point to the fact Maehdros himself had not paused to sup yet.

A hand hovered gently over Nolyas back, careful that the boy did not fall as he sat upon Maedhros' knee. Gentleness within his eyes toward his son, there is a smile on his face, and he cannot help but be overwhelmed with affection which he pressed in a kiss against the side of his head as he finished speaking.

"Refugees, yes." He confirmed, though he laughed softly at the rather pointed comment of his failing to eat. "You are right, the Lord of Himring is rather hungry once he thinks of it. I do not think he has taken any meals since..." The fact he had to think about it was rather disconcerting. "Morning. And look at that, the sun is setting in the west, dinnertime is close and likely will be one of his Lordships favorites. Shall we attend do you think, or would Your Lordship prefer a quiet affair in my study where the meal was brought to us?"

Ñolya looked up into his father’s face for a long time, his bright silver blue eyes clearly thinking through the question asked of him. At length he spoke again, his voice taking in a hint of the old shyness that had come to Himring with him, a hold over from not being allowed to speak his mind to Eöl.

“I would like to sup with my lord in chambers, but it might be rude.” He smiled uncertainly then, “Isn’t uncle… aren’t you brother…” he chewed his lip suddenly, his brows drawing down into a frown, “I heard uncles Curufin and Celegorm were here. Perhaps we should take dinner with them.”

The truth was that Ñolya did not care for these two uncles. Curufin frightened him by being a bit intense from time to time, and Celegorm terrified him by the sheer size and unfortunate pale hair. He knew in his heart it was unkind, but Celegorm reminded him of Eöl simply because of his size and hair, and thus he had little love for him.

I was going to give him very short hair, something he could style with a single hand, but nah, long curly hair

"I brought these for you." Lance said holding out a bouquet of white lilies and blue irises. He smiled shyly as he held them out to Nolya. "I hope I didn't forget that you hate them or something."

Sees him holding the flowers and cannot help the smile that comes to his lips. Slowly he reaches out to accept them even as he shakes his head a little. "Not at all. These are perfect in fact. Thank you,"

Follows his father around mirroring his every gesture like the world's cutest shadow.

---Maedhros is amused. Soft chuckling burrowed within his chest and slipping out here and there. A tiny, adorable shadow, so like him in so many ways, and trying his best to mimic. Maedhros is flattered. He watches and sees, and at some point decides to take a seat, patting his knee with a warm smile and the softest voice his roughened throat can give.

"Come here, my little shadow. You have been working very hard as the Lord of Himring, take a rest, hm?"

His ears twitch as his nephew stalks closer, a faint smile on his face as he continued to feign obliviousness. When he heard that call he jerked as though startled and turned.

Laughs as he jumps then grins broadly. "Good eve uncle. Did I actually startle you or are you playin?" He is happy either way having always enjoyed the games he and uncle Cana came up with together.

While Atarinkë is just like Fëanáro, Maitimo inherited the most of Nerdanel, in both appearance, temper, and artistic skills.

Ñolya sagged a little as they arrived in the kitchens, his young face screwing up in an expression of disappointment that was much like his father’s.

Then he brightened again, “You’re right! It’s a long walk to Nan Elmoth from here! We are going to need lots of food and water skins for the trip!”

He hopped down without waiting for her to lower and ran to begin collecting as many sticky buns as he could carry.

“Atya is going to be so proud of me! Him and uncles can’t find Amme, but I bet I can! We are going to be heros!”

She did not have to look back to tell that he was disappointed, the shift of his weight upon her back was enough for her to tell. The young master had to know that this trip was not happening.

Then he perked up and slid off her back before she could sit or lay down; this was going to be a lot harder than she thought it would be. Hopefully they would cross paths with his father or draw enough attention that they were stopped.

Laurë snuck a sticky bun as Ñolya ran around the kitchen, swallowing it quickly with not a guilty look in sight as she continued to watch the elfling.

If Maedhros and his brothers were unable to find Aredhel, what hope had they? Surely they'd think to ask her and Huan for help rather than blindly groping through Nan Elmoth seeking enemies...
