I have a booth I sit at every time I am there. When the Scoobies come in, all together, they are in their mid to late 40s to early 50s at this point. Yeah. I call them over, they sit at my table.

I kiss them all hello, I put my hands on their cheeks and kiss their precious faces hello one by one. I buy brunch for us all.

They tell me about the latest adventure, I take notes. I am the reporter, illustrator, and publisher of a weekly newspaper detailing their work.

The Scoobies come in once a week, tell me their gossip, I spend the next several days working on the newspaper and mailing it out. There is a post office near the diner, postal workers get free coffee and dessert and a discount.

“…I meant more… career wise… life wise…”

AO3 should have an Annotation Mode where you can click to view all of the author's commentary and thoughts about certain parts of the work. A little comment that says "I spent five hours researching vintage radio mechanics for this and didn't even end up using it" or "this is an ancient Hebrew literary technique!" would make my day
