please, i need any help i can get.

hi, my name is avery (or ave). i’m 19 years old and living at home with a verbally abusive mother and her drug addicted boyfriend. my father lives in alabama, four hours away, and refuses to help me despite having the ability to, based off his income. i am currently unemployed.

starting back in may of this year, i began to notice chest pain that wouldn’t go away. i’d already been battling many months prior with the local doctors, trying to get them to believe me when i said i didn’t feel right– they all dismissed it as depression, as laziness, as anxiety, as faking. sometimes, i just felt like giving up on it and letting myself waste away with whatever was wearing me down.

but after much pushing, a new family doctor sent me to the cardiologist an hour away in a nearby state. they ordered to have me perform a stress test, as well as an echocardiogram of my heart to check for physical problems that they may not be able to hear. the stress test came first.

Where do I even begin? I guess I’ll start when I first became a fan of you. I’ve been a fan of you for as long as I can remember. The first song that I remember hearing of yours is “Teardrops on My Guitar” which came out when I was around 6 years old or so. I remember thinking to myself about how great of a voice you have and Taylor, your voice has only improved through these past 8 or so years. (Also, when I saw a picture of you, I thought how pretty you were, and you are still so beautiful, both on the inside and out.) Anyways, I’m 14 and this year has been a little hard for me. I am still learning who my true friends are and struggling with self confidence. I have discovered that a lot of people who I thought were my friends, really aren’t really my friends, so I came to the realization that no one is ever there for me or by my side for a long period time. Then, I remember you. You have been the constant in my life ever since I was a little girl and I know that you and your music will always be there for me, through thick and thin. Growing up with you has been so amazing because through every single album and every single performance I have seen you grow, musically and as a person. You bring me such happiness and joy in my life and so many others, so I could only hope that I would do the same to you.
