guy whose pronouns are who/whom/whose
“whose pronouns are who/whom/whose?”
“that’s right”
Today I bring you the story of Mieke Gorissen
Mieke is a 38 year old Belgian Physics and Maths teacher. In February Mieke said she wanted to run a marathon for funsies and surprised everyone by running the Olympic limit in that race.
Today she ran the Olympic marathon in Tokyo, where her plan was just to finish the marathon and hopefully not finish last. (Especially since it was HOT as hell)
At the finish line she was already crying of joy because she finished the marathon. When she heard from the interviewer she got the 28th place out of 88 candidates, she could not believe it an started crying harder and saying “that’s not possible”.
For an amateur, Mieke her time and perseverance is unbelievable and highlights the beauty of the Olympics. Here’s to you Mieke, a true Olympian!!!
She's a knitter too! Just like Tom Daley. She picked up running in order to keep moving because her hobbies are knitting and reading science books. In 2018 she got a personal trainer to improve her technique on her 10km hobby runs, and turned out to be crazy talented. Her first marathon she had to hand in an "aimed for" time, and she aimed for the Olympic time limit because why not?
She ran far below that limit. Her second ever marathon was this Olympic marathon. And she didn't even put all her time and effort into training, no, she put all her time and effort in the final exams of her high school students. This was very much a side quest. Insane
jojo siwa is like. her style is not my taste at all but as soon as other people call it annoying im like actually you're wrong she's an icon and a legend
she looks like the concentrated essence of a claires store and i do not mean this negatively
it’s the “fuck you” to the current trend of encouraging teenagers to look 24 and embracing girly things that cis men hate
American Kawaii
she looks like someone turned a Skittles commercial into a person and i love it
If you don’t mind me putting my two cents:
I feel like Jojo Siwa’s style is reminiscent of the colorful teen girl fashion of the late 2000s and early 10s. Back then it was considered fashionable to use lots of colors, accessories, etc. Take a look at Jojo Siwa:
Very colorful, generous with sparkles and accessories. It’s meant to be fun!
If you were a kid in 2007-2012 you saw something similar in the clothing the teens in your sitcoms wore, although not as exaggerated. The fashion in Shake It Up(which came out in 2010) is a really good example of this:
(You may laugh, but this was the height of fashion to 13 year old me.)
The point is, Jojo’s aesthetic is similar to being a young pre teen girl walking into Limited Too for the first time.
And the reason cishet men hate it is because they don’t find it attractive. That’s why she’s often made fun of and used as a joke so much. Because that style doesn’t cater to the male gaze. It’s not for them, so it must be bad.
lowkey I feel like a lot of people my age & younger think selfcare is like “treat yourself to new outfit” or “put on a facemask” or “have an extra scoop of ice cream” but i cannot stress enough that sometimes selfcare is “brushing your teeth” and “cleaning your room” and “eating some fruit” or “going for a walk”
It’s not just about the frivolous ‘treat-yourself’ stuff. most of the time it’s about actually taking care of your body’s basic needs
one of my favorite lyrics on folklore is “i knew you tried to change the ending; peter losing wendy” for multiple reasons. one of these is that in three words, she showcases the maturity difference between betty and james; betty says that despite her youth, james is one of the few things she was sure about (”when you are young they assume you know nothing, but i knew you”), while james is the opposite, using age as an excuse for hurting betty (”i’m only seventeen, i don’t know anything”), and of course, peter pan is the boy who refused to grow up. but the main reason i think this lyric is so incredible is because at the end of peter pan, we find out that despite not having seen peter in many, many years, wendy tells the story to her children and grandchildren so that their adventure will always be remembered. this is the very definition of the word folklore and ties in perfectly to taylor’s album foreword where she said that she wants us to keep the stories she tells on the album and pass them along. with one line, she manages to encompass not only an important piece of betty’s and james’s relationship, but the key to the entire album.

I love him so much
hang on i have to respond to this
i was a sims 3 STAN and when sims 4 was released i was one of those people who were mad purely bc it wasnt ts3 and i absolutely refused to aknowledge its existence for years even after i stopped playing ts3 but i bought ts4 on new years 2019 and have obviously become addicted and like
its so shocking how its improved light years in some aspects and fucking gone back in quality in others
the sims 4 basegame is barely a game; half the expansions arent things thatd actually expand your game (im looking at you laundry day). playing ts4 basegame is dull so bloody quick bc there isnt anything there and people are hunting for mods to fix parts of the game that have never worked correctly and its 5 years in
content isnt being made for certain age groups (my sims kid has been a kid for2 sim weeks and i feel like ive already done literally everything i can with children) despite the entire community telling the devs that we want more things and the devs sitting there humming and saying that nobody plays with kids so nah
im not interested in occult gameplay or fame gameplay or things like that so i made the decision that id only actually buy expansions i was interested in bc with the ts3 id waste all my money on things like world adventures or supernatural or late night and then id never ever play with it but now im at the point that with the base game and 9 expansions i have im beginning to wonder if i should drop another odd 200 total on the rest bc its so.. limited
