Scam alert

@cozytummytime's account sent me a message claiming that they submitted a report to my account on accident and that I should contact "tumblr support" via Discord to protect my account. This is one of THE classic fishing scams of today. If you get a similar message, don't fall for it. Tumblr does NOT make you contact support through another application such as discord, so that will be your most obvious clue. TO CLARIFY. I do not believe the user willingly decided to try to scam me or other users, but rather I believe they fell for such a scam themselves and their account has been compromised. I hope they can get it back before this gets out of hand.

Lamia posting time Not sure if y'all have seen my snek but that snek got a lamia form a while back (art courtesy of Zanyfeatherbrain) Today, I've gotten a version of the ref with armor, so I'mma share with you all!

The idea of having her as a lamia came from a modded Terraria playthrough (Specifically Calamity Infernum + Wrath of the Gods) funnily enough (since you can't play as a full snek but there is lamia vanity) The armor is based off of the D-Town Chest Plate and the Hallowed Helmet (Yes I played as her with the melee class), with the trim meant to look like Auric from Calamity mod, so you could say this is her personal set of Auric Tesla Armor.

I'm not really sure how to answer this. Are they so traumatized that the way they respond to it is ceasing to be a functional person? Different people (And therefore so should different characters) respond to a traumatic event very differently, but from what I understand there are three core ideas where any response evolves from: "I never want this to happen to me again." "I want to make everyone else experience this so at least I won't be alone." "I want to do everything in my power to make sure this never happens to anyone again." When applying this to characters, the first is probably the most likely to produce someone that is hard to interact with, very closed off, and antisocial, especially if the trauma is the loss of a loved one. They'll fear getting close with someone else to not risk experiencing that pain again. (Also, this response is allowed to overlap with the other two, for interesting results). The second usually produce a very self-destructive and villainous character, making true the phrase "Hurt people hurt people". Characters like this might be able to get a redemption arc but they'll need some therapy to do it, and it will usually result in their trauma response turning towards number 3.

The third is probably something you've seen before if you experienced any well-written adaptation of Batman. Most superheroes really, end up with a tragic backstory and this is the response that turns them into a superhero. This produces characters that are empathetic to almost a fault. As sad a truth as it is, some of the kindest people you'll ever meet probably had something really, really bad happen to them, and their understanding of that pain is why they know not to try to inflict it on others. But! This can also produce a very controlling person, like an over-protective parent, that may try to micromanage what you do. In this scenario, it's not out of malice (quite the opposite) but it is an unhealthy behavior that needs to be addressed. I don't mean to be rude but I have no other context and it sounds like you're only writing characters with responses 1 or 2? either that or it's like the stereotypical DND rogue meme who can't stop talking about their tragic backstory (a very unrealistic response. Almost no one WANTS to talk about their trauma 24/7 except for maybe people with response number 2). And while everyone is traumatized one way or another, not all trauma is created equal or happens the same way. It can be as devastating as a horribly abusive parent or your whole clan being slaughtered before your eyes, or as simple and one-off event as your mom trying to make you eat something you really don't want to eat and that makes you hate that thing even more so you'll never give it a chance even if it's actually good. One is much more character-defining than the other, and none of them should be your character's ENTIRE personality. Sorry for the long response, I guess I had a lot to say lol

I have been almost negative activity of-late, barely even lurking this site anymore, so let's try to change that a bit. I've gone ahead and stolen this from Twitter, and I feel like this would be fun to work with! Had a realization a while back. "Naruto running" is a result of the characters in that show running so fast that wind resistance pulls their arms behind them. They aren't doing it on purpose to run faster, it's just a consequence of running really fast.
