~ Hafez
We smile and vow to never miss another sunset đ because as women, we will not crumble in the face of adversity. We carry on, build the same strength our mothers bore when they raised us , and channel our nurturing thoughts into our own minds and souls. No one else before that. No one else deserves that more than we do. And the same unto you.
Nothing makes sense and thatâs okay. At least I am still alive and still trying.

Itâs true. Hang on. Youâll pull through this rut before you know it.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!!
tiny brain: brooklyn nine nine isnt cop propaganda
average brain: brooklyn nine nine IS cop propaganda and that means u cant watch it
giant brain: brooklyn nine nine is absolutely cop propaganda and 1 episode about the treatment of black people by cops in no way fixes that, however i still watch and enjoy it because i am a mature person with critical thinking skills who understands that boycotting every problematic piece of media is a fruitless endeavor. especially because boycotting b99 specifically would mean sacrificing the many other great things it brings to tv, including its humor, its diversity, its strong & well-rounded female characters, its presentation of healthy friendships & relationships, its subversion of harmful stereotypes, and its constant social commentary on political issues such as transphobia, gun control, flaws in the prison system etc which other shows wouldnt DARE touch
galaxy brain: BOOOooooOOoooNE!!
fuck any Cop propaganda thoe
what alll people that are cops really want
I was in my friends car(sitting in the back seat) when cops pulled her(she black)over cuz she âdidnt make a stopâ(there was never any stop sign).
The cop was super aggressive and told her she was drunk(she wasnât). He told her to just stand there and he came out and pulled out my boy and me for no damn reason. Cop checks my bag finds the tiniest nug (less than 1/2gram) of MJ(documented I had 13grams).
I get taken into custody and during the ride, racist asshole asked me, âhow do you speak English so well?â
Abuse of power, racism, police is corrupt as fuck. This happened in Carroll County Maryland.
Now I got that shit on my record like Iâm a fcking criminal.
Happy Black History Month
No, and I would remind us that, coming from a reality where our oppression was ineluctably linked to our bodies â that we had, for centuries, no rights to our bodies and that all of the traditional pleasures and all of the traditional freedoms of human agency were forbidden to those of us of African descent in the New World, for a long period of time â the body, in such a murderous regime, under such nightmarish conditions, becomes chapel, cathedral, dogma. It becomes nearly everything. And so certainly, it took a bunch of work for Western theologians to create intellectual â and to argue the philosophical â bridges between mind and body or between the sacred and the material. But in the New World, for those of us of African descent, we were living centuries ahead in our bodies. We were philosophizing centuries ahead of how bodies exist within, through, and alongside the numinous. And I have to tell you that, for people like us, for people who come out of the African Diaspora in the New World, simply to fall in love, when you have historically been denied love, the right to just connect to the body which you have chosen and that has chosen you, means that an act of love is not only revolutionary, itâs not only transcendent, but it is the deific. It is Godlike. It is a taste of the omnipotent.

We live in truly one of the most racist countries on earth. And they took him alive you know damn well if he had been a poc heâd be dead. Theyâd have shot him while unarmed with his back turned.
White privilege: drugs found in your dorm, taken to the police station, pulling a gun and killing an officer - and taken alive and unharmed.
The media probably: âHeâs misunderstood, comes from a wholesome family. Was having anxiety that nightâ.
