Just an Imagery to place in your mind.

An animal that can weigh as much as 12,000 pounds and be as long as 22 feet long, an animal that is so intelligent, such a social and emotional creature.  Thrown into a tank that is the equivalent of a human bathtub when they swim H-U-N-D-R-E-D-S of miles per day.

The image above shows an Aerial View of SeaWorld and the circled area you see is the habitat of Tilikum, the largest Orca in captivity. He is 22.5" feet long and weighs over 12,000 pounds. This is his home...

But here’s the problem…

What happens when all those Sea World parks get shut down?  These creatures that have been in captivity for even up to 25 or 30 years, they cannot just be simply released back to the wild. They wouldn’t survive, it’d be cruelty and a total death wish.  These animals live in pods, a social structure where each individual pod has their own pitch of sounds, a specific family structure and habits.  You cannot simply throw five orcas from five different pods into one tank, that would be hell for those poor animals and unfortunately it happens at a place so many children are in love with, a place called Sea World, but I like to call it a Torture Bin.

What about a giant glassed in area of hundreds, even T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D-S of miles in area that is a place where they can swim freely with lots of space because they couldn’t be released to the wild. Or what about humanely euthanizing the Sea World captives? Would it better for them because they’ve been through so much torture and psychological, emotional and even physical damage?

Ever wondered how Tilikum feels in confinement in relation to his size? The WDC replicated the tank dimensions of the pool he spends the most time in (the underwater viewing area) into human terms so you really can get a perspective on what his life is like.
