The madness all begin when I found the number written on his hand.
Prior to that, Luke was the ideal boyfriend. He was honest and loving ; the entire package. It was irrelevant to not trust him, he was perfect. If he said he’ll be going to a party with the boys, I would have enough trust to know he won’t flirt with any others.
That particular night, I wish I didn’t.
Earlier, the day was calming. The boys had a day off from their hectic schedules and wanted to do something exciting before the night ends.
"Let’s go to a nightclub?" said a green haired Michael. The other boys head’s peered up with excitement. "Aw, yes."
In about twenty minutes, they were dressed in the proper attire to go ‘clubbing’. Luke walked over to where I was laying on the couch, reading my novelette. He kissed my cheek, making my cheeks flare instantaneously.
"You’re sure you don’t want to come with?"
"No, thanks. " I gave him an assuring smile to ease his troubled stare. "I rather finish my novel, I’m almost done and its getting interesting. "
I mirrored the smile planted on his face, I couldn’t help that he’s so beautiful. He hugged me tightly, before kissing my forehead. “See you soon, baby.” he whispered, before making his way out.
Out of all honesty, I wasn’t quite a party person. I was more fond of staying home, blogging, reading, etc. Luke didn’t give me a reason to follow him places that made me uncomfortable.
Forwarding to when Lucas came home;
I saw him, stumbling and ramming through the objects in his way. I scrunched my eyebrows, trying to be oblivious to his drunken state.
Inaudible mumbles escaped his lips as he stripped out of his clothing and hopped into the bed next to me. Half asleep, I ignored his condition and fall back asleep.
I was roused when the beaming sunlight shone on my face. I smiled as Luke comfortably situated himself between the crook of my neck. He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist. I reached my hand down, to rub his knuckles.
I delicately passed my fingers into the bruised marks until an unfamiliar pattern became visual. Interested, I moved his hand closer to my face to witness a phone number and the name ‘Ashley’ scribbled into his hand. Anger boiling my blood, I forcefully pushed his hand away from me. I stood up quickly, resulting in Luke waking up.
"The fuck is your problem?" He barked, half conscious. I was taken back by his tone, but quickly questioned him on the telephone number.
"It’s too early for your shit, Ava." He grumbled, covering his face with the pillow. Okay, now I’m confused.
Ignoring this situation temporarily, I walked downstairs to be greeted by the boys. Michael immediately pulled me into where he was sitting and embraced me tightly. I ran my hand through his, now, lilac hair as they all smiled attentively at me.
"You’re okay, Ava?" Calum inquired, hinting my uneasy demeanor. "Hey, guys? What happened yesterday at the club?" Immediately, the atmosphere shifted. "Normal clubbing, why?"
"Luke seems a little.." I paused for a moment, hearing a loud outburst from upstairs. "Off."
Ashton shook his head, “We all get that way, sometimes.” He gave me a short smile, before picking at his breakfast. Michael smiled up at me and I mirrored the act. Luke came stumbling down, angered and hot-headed.
"You’re okay, Lucas?" Mike asked, enjoying his toast. Luke mumbled under his breath as he removed a bag of peas from the freezer, then placed it on his leg. I walked over to where he rested, and adjusted the peas. "Did you trip, or something?"
"Yeah, there was a stool outside the door."said Luke. He breathed through his nostrils, frustrated. "Did you had fun last night?"
"What the fuck are you assuming here?"
I wrinkled my forehead, taking back by his tone and dullness. “It was just a question, Luke. Yes or no would suffice, you know.” I barked back, his attitude wasn’t needed.
"I don’t appreciate your interrogating like I did something awful."
"Well, did you?" I asked, suspiciously. There must be a reason behind his flaming attitude.
"It’s none of your business." he spat, turning away. "You don’t have to be such an asshole, Luke.” Calum muttered, looking over his magazine.
Luke rolled his eyes, heating the atmosphere instantly. I was confused and unaware of what was going on.
Later that afternoon seem to run smoothly, I forgot the situation temporally. The boys had rehearsal for the upcoming show in downtown Chicago.
I sat on one of the cushioned seats, in row E. I had my newest novel at hand, and my reading glasses; this was my time to finally relax. Once I began to read the first chapter and became interested in the story, my ponytail was pulled and my curly hair sprung out.
I huffed in my breath sharply as I turned around and saw a cheeky Calum, holding up my scrunchy. I stood up instantly, wanted my rubberband back. Once I was infront of him, he moved the band above his head, “Reach for it, sweetheart.”
I rolled my eyes, reaching—and failing—, I pretended as if I was annoyed. Nobody could be upset at Cal, c’mon.
I threw my book at him, aiming more to the left to make sure I didn’t actually hit him. He moved to the side and began chanting, “Miss me, miss me, now you have to kiss me.”
Holding me by the waist, his damp lips were pursed toward me. I squealed, leaning on the seat for support from Cal’s weight. “Get away from me!” I squawked, riding my face from his sloppy kisses.
"What the fuck?" A disembodied voice question sternly, instantaneously making Calum and I part. My eyes met Luke’s crystal eyes. I become nervous under his burying glare, "I-uh.. I needed my hair band."
"That was what you called, retrieving your band?" Luke laughed, mocking me. His voice pitched in amazement, "Seriously?"
"Dude, we were just playing around." Calum tried to take up for our behavior. Thank god for him, because I was too ashamed to speak.
"I don’t play around with what’s mine, Hood." He spat viciously. His demeanor instantly changed. "Got that?"
Oh, how I wished this conversation would just be dismissed.
"Was that supposed to alarm me, Luke?” Calum’s right eyebrow pierced upwards, intimidating him. His voice was dissolved in humor, while I was shivering under Luke’s stare.
He was always the jealous type.
If it was Michael, or Ashton, he wouldn’t be this alarmed because they were his brothers. He would’ve never questioned our horseplay or have a second thought.
Calum seemed to ignite him. Almost as if, Calum intimidated and threatened him.
Luke and Calum glared at each other, for what seemed to be hours. I wasn’t amused, because I was aware of Luke when he feels “lowered”. He was always sought to be an oppressor, wanting to be in charge. Luke growled a short swear, before grabbing my wrist and pulling me to the back room with him.
The texture of the wall seeped through my red tank top as Luke kept my body positioned against him. His firm hands was tangled into my hair, combing through it. His eyes, clouded with a mixture, met mine as if he was sympathetic before his eyes become dull.
He yanked my hair down, making me part my mouth. His plump lips was just a few centimeters away before he crashed his lips into mine.
Our lips moved in synchronization for a few more seconds before he tugged on my bottom lip, releasing it slowly.
His hot breath matched my rigid breathing as he whispered,
