Great news! I’m needlessly paranoid!
me listening to any song ever: how can i make this about my idiots in love
Keeping an alive tumblr in 2026 is proof of one's sincerity and authenticity - a type of person who enjoys posting for the sake of it with absolutely nothing to be gained....just the enjoyment of curation and self expression untainted by opportunity and relevance
Shoutout to my favorite genre of TOS episode:
For the ask game: C, I, & W (haters edition lol)
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
I plead the fifth.
It's rare for me to say that I will never like a ship, though. If you can present a ship to me in a way that is interesting or funny, chances are that I will enjoy it! In fact, there are ships that I do dislike but can like, if it's in a very specific instance.
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
Not Tumblr specifically, but I don't really participate in fandom as much anymore. I mean, I still do, but I keep more to myself. Modern fandom is too much for me and I feel like the culture of fandom overall has shifted into something I don't like.
Sometimes I wonder if I've been blinded by nostalgia but then I look at LiveJournal posts and fanart/fics from 2010 and see how, for all of old fandom's problems (and there was a lot), it was a more innovative environment overall. Maybe it's because creators are more accessible online and people need to get their approval, which leads to this hyper-vigilant attitude in fandom? It also could be social media in general.
The idea of going viral over fandom was generally not a good thing unless it was a troll fic like My Immortal. There'd be websites that would mock the 'cringe' side of fandom via MST3K fanfics where characters would mock a bad fanfic or websites that would mock bad fanart but you had to go out of your way to find them. Now you can get a book deal if your Avengers fanfic becomes popular enough - which was the sort of thing, if done in the past, was kept hush-hush if possible (see: Twilight originally being Harry Potter fanfic). It's good that no one is being sued by Anne Rice anymore, but I also don't like how people are making profit over being BNFs. Betrays the whole point of fandom and creating for the fun of the game.
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
Applies to actual media too - if I can smell any latent digs at ships the author doesn't like (aka writers taking time to demonstrate to the audience how bad couple X and why they should really prefer couple Y), then I will check out. This even applies in fics with ships I like insulting ships I dislike. I just don't get that much enjoyment out of ship bashing - it always feels awkward.
(The only exception to this rule would be breakup and/or cheating fics, but in that instance, the whole point of the fic is the infidelity, so it's more understandable, lol).
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
V - Which character do you relate to most?
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)
More game devs need to understand the following concepts:
There is a finite amount of memory on any given device.
No matter how good your game is, players will want memory for other things on their devices.
Not everyone has a stable internet connection so making single player games needing an internet connection is not good.
4. The price of memory has more than quadrupled in the past six months
All those burger places and ramen places and the ramen-burger place. New York City from 2012 - 2016 was peak.
Tragically, things went downhill after Trump was elected but it was still salvageable. And then, well, COVID.
Everyone makes fun of the millennial overpriced burger restaurants but the worst part is that they got you hooked on some bullshit and promptly shut down because their polycule broke up or whatever. You’ll never get to eat the caramelized onion apple parmesan sex bomb burger again. And it was $23 and good.
writing is 10% storytelling and 90% rearranging three sentences for an hour like you're trying to solve an ancient curse
i love settings where the characters dont die when they are killed. like steven universe's poofing mechanic and dungeon meshi's revival and tadc's nobody-can-die. i like it when you can kill the characters and its just fine

writing tip: put words on page. hope this helps. i will not be taking questions because i have not done this
