ophelia musings :D @leopardusk bit of a niche comparison but rival!ophelia i imagine having a role like nene amano in digimon fusion, where she helps out team runt, but sticks to her own principles/works alone. i imagine that when ophelia is separated from team all girls, she realizes how weak she is alone, and is really hard on herself/wants to become strong enough to fight on her own so that she can be a good leader for when she returns to her team. i see rival!ophelia refusing to join team runt (during her separation from all girls) at first because she doesn't want to rely on anyone, etc etc relearns the value of teamwork and that it's okay to have help.

it's like how cogboggle serves as a rival to runt! except while cogboggle has his thievery stealth thing going on, and runt has his wacky tactics, ophelia is the more conventional, disciplined, steadfast fighter: the golden soldier, villagetown's top student kind of thing. VERY extremely loyal to those she is devoted to.

ALSO BREEZE PARALLELS! in my hypothetical arc, breeze has a moment where she talks to ophelia like It's okay to let yourself rely on your team... you don't have to fight alone...they are your team for a reason... meanwhile ophelia is so hard on herself because she WANTS to be strong for her team and yeah.

ophelia's relationship with stump in this au being more like a mutual admiration thing is so much more interesting to me also. imagine the battle combos! i need this shit queerbait coded

also i feel like i should say that this isn't a new drawing, it has actually been sitting in my flipaclip projects for months (togetger with my 93647282 other wips) waiting to get a decent bg so it could be posted lol. the original was a drawing i made on my math textbook, i'm putting that too at the bottom

Okay, so make fun of me for enjoying this if you wish, but TIL that one of the peakest Minecraft series ever, Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior, has two more books past book 6 with another on the way???

I drew Runt recreating his Daydream Warrior pose in his Gemwrought Mail armor to show how far he’s come and because it’s his coolest and most iconic armor. I’m planing on coloring this soon and then maybe drawing Breeze in her Shadowbrook Scour armor (I’ll post an update if I do) anyway, Hope you liked my drawing! :D

Because of the Mayoral powers that commanded them all, Emerald Shadowground found herself making banners with Villagetown’s own sweetheart/outcast (who might as well be the village creeper. Or an enderman… she totally gave off enderman vibes… ), Breeze . 

Yeah, that Breeze. Painting with colors. With Emerald. Because they were war heroes. And also girls. Because the mayor is a feminist now and wanted Breeze and Emerald to work on this project because he “wants to show that girls can fight too”. Hooray for women on the front lines! Ignore the fact that they’re child soldiers.

And as Emerald glanced up to observe Breeze, undoubtedly the best all-round student, there was only one thought in Emerald’s mind:

Wow, she freaking sucks at this!

“Um,” Emerald started, eyeing Breeze’s work. If you could really call it that. “Generally, I think the Mayor wants our propaganda to look… how do you say, visually appealing?”

The other girl’s hand paused. Her eye, the one not covered by a curtain of blue bangs, met Emerald’s. “Propaganda,” she repeated. Her gaze was… unreadable, Emerald concluded. With shame , mind you! She’s good at reading people, okay! Breeze isn’t exactly an open book. If anything, she’s a closed book. A closed book with a lock with the key hidden in a sand temple seven biomes away. So, yeah.

“I mean…” 

Emerald looked at page of instructions they were given by the mayor, which including a list of slogans for them to put on the banners. Fun things such as Mine for Victory , We Can Do It! , and of course, the classic Our Wall Will Never Fall . They were to illustrate imagery that would apparently stir Villagetown’s pride, that would encourage patriotism . They were to, if you will, glaze Villagetown. For the sake of their survival, or something.

“I just- okay, I’m not trying to be mean, its just that-- I don’t feel very… patriotic, looking at… is that a chicken?”

“Yes.”

Emerald squinted at the strokes of white and yellow and red and black. “Ah. I see it now. Is this just like, for fun, or… cause I don't see how that's entirely related to our situation...?”

“It’s a chicken. The slogan will be The Mobs Are Chicken . To imply that Herobrine’s army is weak, even if it is untrue, to bring up the morale of the village.” Breeze leaned back, resting on her palm, looking self-satisfied.

“Oh… Breeze…that’s…. That’s great…”

“Thank you.”

Man. She couldn’t help being a mystery, could she? Because it was definitely a mystery to Emerald how a banner could look like that. 

They continued working. Emerald thought about her friends, how she’d be chatting and gossiping with them, coming up with new strategies and stuff to show off in class. So, the quiet was certainly different. Not exactly suffocating , just… quiet. Hm. Whatever.

Breeze was alright, Emerald decided. Even if her chickens looked more like albino ender zombies. Emerald could live with that.
