The Search for The Leviathan [Live commentary recap]
Basically a collection of thoughts and some conclusions of the video from me, ft.my friend. Does contain spoilers, you are reading this is at your own agreement with yourself.
Note: I'm usually clueless about most things in the minecraft creator space, except maybe some let's play series. And i went into this blind, like, very blind, not really that well-versed in game mechanics past the ocean update kind of blind.
Most of my commentary might not be so game-centered i feel, but it does have things in relation to the vid.
So minute 1 to 9 was interesting, the premises set were vague enough that Wifies would not know if 1 or 4 of the information he finds is true. and the character ship potential came up so fast (according to my friend) lol. Most of the part i'm just looking at hardware specs and numbers. for now.
When i say im mostly clueless for most of the game mechanics i mean, i did not know they added nautiluses recently. i fall into the demographic lol
and then of course i had to look at all the numbers in F3, bc why not, its fun, it's a mechanic i needed to learn to keep 20 year old hardware alive. It was, in fact, relevant to the plot (lovely, very lovely).
#watDatMean "what's mine is now yours" you just met this guy bro chill. I have. very conflicting feelings about Hummer. i don't dislike him nor do i like him, at all.
Most of the introductory part of the "Leviathan"/ Levi and getting to see Hummer was, interesting, by this point i was mostly suspicious of Hummer. Not in any malicious sense but more of a "what is your history with it. And do you want us to know." suspicious. Very much was scolding him, by the way.
If Levi were to wear jeans, would it be like A or B?
The universe said i should foreshadow something, wasn't even near the middle part of it, man. I guess we just have to make peace with it now. (I'm still mad at myself for guessing UnstableSMP's whole plot point within 10 minutes of the first EP and now i just. yeah. overthinkmaxxing. Not the fun kind.)
I continued on with not really liking Hummer, he is, Something. note the fact i used capital letters on these
Those capital letters sure are conveying something, huh. He should really stop sending Wifies to "drown" haha. by this point i was lowkey not being the most patient person ever and realizing the "Why" would be what we gotta find out first (and why i started using "you 'Are' Something." instead of "you 'Know' Something." the revelation goes either way. if Wifies had to choose, it's going to be "Hummer And Levi" and not "Hummer or Levi").
Foreshadow that again after Wifies drowned again i dare you, past me, i dare you to. I dont even know or watch Lifesteal and only heard the name in passing, hell i didn't even know Wifies was on there. dude i am MAD about getting the intrusive thought on that information correct lmaoooo. Anyways, Derlord in the background of the village robbery bit was lovely he is just existing aww
The horrors persists, hm.
The submarine. Crazy move there, Hummer. Also wasn't too fond of how Hummer suggested Wifies be the one to activate the submarine, i get it was for honor and such but he was not really much of a believer anymore. as much as i dont like him, Hummer was quite off in this sequence (and thus the crashout about believing in Levi).
Here goes The Big Brain Thoughts:
We found the "Why" answer or reason from previous parts, whichever sounds fitting :]
Wifies knew Levi in hypothesis, Hummer (and by extension Aronnax) knew Levi in their own interprentation. Hummer wanted Wifies "to see Levi" as how he sees it.

Levi IS the belief of a concept, at the end of the day. This why they cease to "exist" to the beholder at the moment, in relation of each entity; they both behold concepts and explanations.
Hummer, more of the process of explaining the concept itself, he wants you To See Levi in the true belief of What Levi is. But to "corrupt" or change his belief is to change his true view of Levi that he wanted to show. Levi on the other hand; is The Concept in functionality itself. There are steps to be taken and believe in to fully grasp Levi in its actuality. Thus; Hummer dragging Wifies on to things. In believing the concept, you start understanding What it is, experiences and all included (maybe not all the drowning and the 75$ bargain thing, that is definitely not fun for Wifies lmao).
