“I’m trying to convince people that I’m not,” Opal said. “But I guess that it would be very terrible if kids hated me.”
“They w-will listen in time.” Nopal offered her a smile. “I-it would. But I h-have yet to see a ch-child that really hates s-someone.”
“I know I’m n-not the s-smartest person in the r-room and frankly, never wil b-be, but I c-can’t be the only o-one that’s lost here.”
"Maybe. I hope that children learn to like me. Because if they don’t I’ll have a very serious problem." Opal said with a small laugh.
“Yes. That would b-be problematic.” She nodded, smiling softly. “I’m sure th-they will learn to l-like you. After all, y-you are very nice now.”
"I suppose. But children don’t like me," Opal said "They never have, and I guess I thought they never would."
"Well, i-in their defense, you are k-kinda intimidating." Shs told her honestly. "But see, s-since Auggie and Hazel like you, you can p-prove that you aren't so i-intimidating."
"I don’t think he’ll mind. And if he does, boo on him. It’s your hair and you’ll do what you’ll like with it."
"I-i hope he doesn't. I k-know, but h-he's my husband. I'd prefer i-if he did like my hair rather th-than dislike i-it."
"Oh my gosh Nopal you look amazing! That cut is perfect for you."

"My kids still believe in Santa, but they’ve already ground up sugar cubes and put it in Santa’s milk saying that they were going to put him to sleep so that they could get whatever they wanted from him. Their reasoning behind this was that ‘they were Butlers and could do whatever they wanted’. They also try to use that excuse to get out of bath-time."
"Sounds like q-quite the handful." She giggled. "Auggie h-hasn't tried anything like th-that yet, but yesterday h-he did shield and p-put salt in Grub's coffee."
"Ugh, I know the feeling. I have had to get very creative in order to hide the kids’ presents.”
"Yeah, i-it's a lot of w-work. Luckily, Hazel is still l-little so she doesn't k-know to look for th-them yet, thank Frond f-for that."
"Now all that's l-left is to make s-sure Auggie doesn't find h-his gifts before Christmas."

Leigh laughed. “I thought something like this would happen. I’ve always been curious about the magical development of Fairy children.”
"Grub told m-me to expect it, th-though I wasn't sure w-what to expect at f-first." She smiled.
"Is she happy? I can’t tell, I know she isn’t upset, but is she happy?" Opal asked. "I never know with children."
"She's happy." Nopal smiled at the pair. "You a-are quite good with H-Hazel. She rarely lets a-anyone hold her without f-fussing a lot."

Opal held Hazel cautiously. Her weakness was decidedly children. She smiled awkwardly at Hazel.
Nopal gave a small giggle at Opal's awkward smile as Hazel looked up at her contently.
"Hey Nopal! How have you been love?"
"I’ve been well." She smiled. "H-how have you been?"
"I’m alive, so I can’t complain too much." Leigh sighed, chuckling slightly.
"How have the kiddos been doing? Not giving you too much trouble, I hope."
"Th-that's good." She said. "Auggie and Hazel h-have been well. Though, August l-learned how to shield r-recently and seems to e-enjoy hiding from Grub a-and I from time t-to time."
