I know I’m lucky enough to have parents who are willing and able to take care of me post surgery, so I really shouldn’t complain.

Upstairs neighbor seems to be training for a damn marathon in the 650 sq ft apartment while wearing construction boots. I’m losing my mind. What could she possibly be doing for 10 damn hours up there???

I fully expect her to land in the living room.

There’s an elephant upstairs

and I don’t know what to do.

Did he sail from somewhere far away?

Take a taxi from the zoo?

All day long, he stomps around,

back and forth he goes.

From one side to the other,

and my frustration grows.

Do I go upstairs to talk

and knock right on his door?

I fear that if I don’t,

he’ll fall right through the floor.

I’ll affix him to the ceiling

with tons and tons of glue.

I love going to the Y! I love exercise!

I say over and over again - desperately trying to convince myself it’s true. It has not worked.

Not when the alarm goes off, not when I get dressed, not when I get in the car, not when I park the car, not when I walk in, not when I’m in the friggin pool.

Like Sisyphus and his damn rock, though…every damn day.
