[OBJECTIVE] Melon Album of the Year Criteria
This is not an invitation for bashing or fanwars so stay out of this post if that is your intention. This is to lay out the facts and ask objective questions. Although I am happy for BTS, according to MMA’s criteria that 70% would be based on MELON DIGITALS (outlined in the chart) and the rest on voting (which EXO was carrying by a mile) I truly want to ask Melon if, how and why they somehow changed their criteria for a different winner. EXO’s downloads alone were 5 million + ONLY for their album digitals this year. In this regard, they even beat out girl groups who are known for their stellar melon performances.
Knetz are in doubt and questioning this as well, so please Melon at the very least give a clear transparent criteria for the winners or if you’re just going to hand out awards why have critera at all? For example IOI not winning Rookie although their melon digitals were above and beyond any other rookie group there or Jang Beom Jung’s album which had over FOUR times the downloads and over 3 times the streams that bts had, even more than EXO and if there was no voting included than he should have won. If you don’t follow the criteria you yourself ave outlined, you can’t expect people to just nod and accept it. Doing this lowers the credibility of the award show and the awards themselves.

Important thing to know here is that criteria for Album and Artists were exactly the same.

If EXO met the criteria for artist, the only reasonable explanation I can see here is that MMA didn’t want to give them both.
As I stated in my very first sentence, if you have nothing to say in a civil manner then move on from this post. if you start disrespecting groups and being hostile and taunting, you will be blocked.

confession: i didn’t expect exo to win artist of he year bcs i feel like the other nominees are more active in korea than them thus making them shine more to be considered as artist of the year. lol i guess that’s not the way they compute it excuse my dumbness. i also did not expect exo to win song of the year bcs I AM TOTALLY ROOTING FOR TWICE. ISTG if cheer up is not the song of the year im gonna throw a fit. cheer up is song of the year bcs sha sha sha. everyone knows that! lololol.
