I never updated this—well it’s not like people seen this.
So I dated him and we were together for about two years. We were happy but like any regular couple, we hit a bump on the road.
We tried working it out—we thought we did but we just couldn’t. I already had a feeling it was coming to an end but I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to take the full blame and I didn’t want to give him the pleasure of me breaking it off.
He left me in the dark for about a week and wouldn’t really want to talk to me. I ended up just putting him under the limelight and basically coaxing the break up from him.
It hurt— a lot. After we broke up, I sat in my car, crying my eyes out. I called my friend and just cried over the phone. He was reassuring me that I was going to be alright and to head home safely. I started having a panic attack and I texted my now ex (LOL) if he can take me home. (OKAY LOOK. I could’ve easily left my car parked in the street and get an Uber. But I didn’t want to come back the next day to his neighborhood.)
He brought me home and he left in an Uber afterwards. I went into my room and just sat in front of my dog trying to hold in my tears. I gave up and I called my mom from my room and for the first time in my life— I had the comfort of crying to my mom about a guy. The process of healing was made easier with my dog, Mando.
After a while, I felt brave enough to reach out to him. No intent of rekindling the romance but I just wanted to know how he was. We had built a strong friendship foundation so it actually felt sort of normal.
We’re still friends and we still hang out every now and then.
I do miss him and I’m glad we’re still friends.
I also want to say this on the record, I am scared by putting my heart out again. But I’ll stay vulnerable.
