This woman seems to be in her mid 20s. Her smile is bright, like the colorful flowers she is holding against her chest. Perhaps she is feeling a happy due to her eyebrows being raised up. It looks like it was taken during the evening because the sky is orange but blurred out due to the in depth of field to focus on the adult. It also must be cold since she is wearing a fuzzy jacket and a fuzzy knitted white hat. The colorful flowers brings out her facial expression and the color of her hair being grayish brown tint.

This woman looks to be in her mid 60s. She is smiling or smirking at the camera. She is standing proud, standing straight. The sunlight is making her glow with warmth and contentment. Her eyes are giving a mysterious or mischievous glint. She is wearing a black winter coat, a gray and black scarf. Her round glasses makes her look more intelligent and proper.  Her head is tilted towards the side she is looking at me or beyond me. She has her hair curled and it’s white and gray.

A woman perhaps in her 60s has a tight smile looking concerned. She is near a window with vines of leaves crawling across. Her body language is having her arms crossed with two English Books and her wallet. She looks like she is concerned about why she is getting her portrait photo taken now. She is wearing a scarf with a magenta and pink vine pattern on a beige background.

I took this photo of my mom because I live with her. It’s also convenient to use my mom as the portrait photo assignment. I took this at Prince Pond it was where my mom used to go as a child. Looking through the vines makes it as a nature frame around my mom’s face. I told my mom to look right through the vines, so I can get her face to be the main focus.

This is a tree stump at Starved Rock. I chose this place because of all the trees, rocks and nature. It’s interesting because of all the mushrooms and plants around the almost decaying tree stump. The forest plants are engulfing the tree stump but it makes it unique to the eyes of a photographer. It was a bit too bright for the photo it was around 8 a.m. If it were to be earlier the contrast will be easier and the shadows to be the right shade. Besides having it overly exposed due to the harsh lighting.

Straightforward you see  barb wire that is dull but rusted with limbs of tree branches. Within the wire fence you see a brown skinny branch poking through the diamond shaped fence in an angle pointing to the right. The green and brown prairie plants  are overflowing but is contained by the fence. You see that the railing of the fence is a straight line holding up the entire photo. This photo is on man made considering the fact that it’s man’s intrusion on nature. In the far distance, you see a telephone line and the blue sky.

 On the right side there are towering green trees. Further down, there is a winding green grass pathway entering into the other side of the forest preserve. The colors of brown, green and somewhat golden leaves cover the ground. The sunshine that seeps down in the tall, big, green leafed tree that causes shadows to appear on the ground.

In this photo, I had put red berries, green leaves in the mason jar, with its lid open. The mason jar is upon a stump ledge near the water. The water has ripples and makes the water interesting for the background. There are many different overgrown green plants that are somewhat surrounding the mason jar. Doing this assignment helped me understand the different ways to become creative when having to place something in some kind of an environment.

I took this photo at Herrick Lake, near the sandy shoreline. I used the mason jar with the green leaves and red berries along with some water in the jar on this grainy texture to be very interesting. I found out that it is interesting that the mason jar is contrasting the smoothness of the jar to the grainy sandy ground and that it contrasts what is around the mason jar. The water within the jar makes it look semi-full of green water. This project helped me see that I should be more aware about the compositions and how the textures and the formal elements that are within the whole photo.

Using the Madeline doll, a knife, and food coloring to make this sewer photo pop out. It looks sinister to the eyes of others. 
The sewer assignment is picking a sewer to take photos of. Despite we walk past them not really acknowledging the use of them. Doing different angles and different props to make the sewer more interesting to look at. I learned that doing the sewer project that putting the sewer in perspective of a photographer is deeply different and unique to the eyes.

This umbrella on the sewer, makes it unique because umbrella’s can fall out of cars or by the wind if the umbrella is opened like above. I noticed that it makes the sewer pop out more with the umbrella above it.

This is my Canon Rebel T7 camera. I love this camera, it’s new and clear.
