This may be old news to some, but it's my first encounter with this type of scam so I'll share it here!

Here we have someone pretending to have been scammed and accidentally reported my account. Even providing a screenshot of the support email. It aaalmost kinda got me... But 2 things stood out at first.

1. "You may need to reach out to this user within 12hours"

Time limits!! Classic scams, putting pressure on you to make you stressed and act more irrationally. That way you don't have time to think and make more mistakes in your judgement

2. Add support as a friend on Discord? That was extremely fishy to me as well, I've NEVER seen any kind of support ask you to do this.

I've contacted support before by submitting tickets through their website. Then I'm contacted by their email, and respond by replying to the same email. I almost believed this scam, so I contacted support, but NOT on Discord! Instead I clicked on Support in the app and filed a ticket there. Immediate response says "Hi looks like you're being scammed just fyi just report them". That's when everything fell in place.

Soooo yeah! Reminder to NOT click on links or add people on discord when they tell you to. Always go through their official channels.

That is all, I think the scammer gave up on me, so I'm sharing it here ♡

BTW!! ENABLE 2FA!! I can't stress enough how much it helps against getting hacked!! If I could marry 2fa I would

jeg fant ut at ‘power’ har meldt meg inn i deres kundeklubb uten å egt. spørre meg...han som jobba der bare ba meg om telefonnummeret mitt når jeg handlet der en gang og plutsleig får jeg opp kvitering i mailen min. dette kan vel ikke være lov?

hvordan burde jeg gå fram med dette? har egt aldri meldt meg ut av en kundeklubb før så vet ikke hvordan det fungerer. Går man rett til butikken og spør de om å slette data/brukeren min? og hvor lang tid tar der før de sletter data (hvor lenge oppbevares det)?

det irriterer meg så sykt at det er så konkurranse i butikkene om å vegre flest mulig kunder inn i kundeklubben deres. De må i hvertfall spørre først og ikke bare anta😐 blir jo bombardert med nyhetsbrev så og si hver dag i mailen min. liker bedre de butikkene som har stempel kort og sånt...

Huff, er så utrolig kjedelig hvordan man nærmest er forventet å være medlem i alle butikker nå til dags 🫣

Uansett, jeg er medlem selv og har lett på nettsidene deres, jeg har i hvert fall ikke funnet en enkel knapp noe sted for å melde seg ut. Så vidt jeg kan se, er nok eneste mulighet å enten kontakte dem på epost eller telefon, eller å spørre i en av butikkene deres.

Hvis det er epostene som er irriterende, går det forresten an å melde seg av kun epostene på din MyPower side! Du kan logge inn på power.no med mobilnr og få en kode på SMS i stedet for passord! Men ja, jeg gravde så mye jeg kunne man fant ikke en måte å melde seg ut derfra.

Dette står i vilkårene deres, så det er mulig å melde seg ut! Men hvor lang tid det tar vet jeg dessverre ikke :.(

ok so I have a set of headphones, but I haven't really used them much ever since I found out that the bluetooth radiation basically goes to your brain?

now I could just be paranoid, but I've seen people (even neuroscientists!) talk about it, and I will admit, it does seem sketchy when even billionaires and celebrities use wired headphones...

I am debating whether I should just buy a wire and connect it to my phone-headphones, or just buy a completely new set of headphones with a built in wire. What do you think?

(also if you know any good headphone brands that you could recommend that would be great thanks✨🎧)

Wild if true!! I tried looking up info about the bluetooth stuff, most of what I found is «might» and «not enough research», it wouldn’t surprisre me if it’s true but I haven’t found any clear evidence yet.

BUT, if you’d rather stay on the safe side! I actually use my own bt headset (Sont WH-1000XM4) with a wire because my portable CD player has no bluetooth. It works well for sound, but only for sound. Stuff like noise cancellation (idk how to spell it) and touch gestures don’t work. The plus side is that one time my aux wire broke, so I just replaced it ez pz B)))

With wired headsets made for being wired, they may have these types of features more built-in (if any). I have two headsets rn, one (DT 900 pro X) is for music production with a hq detachable wire and open back! I love it, but they’re huge and may not be suitable for casual listening. My other one is a gaming headset, the sound is mice but the volume control on the wire is kinda weird so I have to set it to specific positions to get sound in both ears. Do not recommend lmao.

So,

Wire pros: Lower cost, easier to replace broken wire. Cons: Your headset may not be able to to some things it previously could, if any

New headset pros: May have functionalities (depending on choice), honestly they just often look super cool. Cons: Cost, some don’t have a detachable wire so if it breaks then you’re screwed

If I were you: If the headset you have still works well and isn’t that old, I’d probably just get the wire to save money. If not, get a new nice headset! Wish I had better recommendations, but in my experience Sony is most often a safe choice 💪 If you live near a store where you can try headsets with your phone or whatever you listen to music on, I’d recommend listening to your favs there!

you see, I am contemplating buying something called "SANDISK". From my understanding, this is a sort of storage drive for your phone. I've seen a lot of content creators/influencers use this and promote it. But the thing is, since these creators are more likely getting paid, how can I trust that it's a good and authentic product?

I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this as a more tech savvy person? and if you know any more about this product & brand?

Hi! Sorry I’m a couple days late!

I’ve looked at it and a bunch of reviews, and it seems to me that it should deliver what it says for the most part! The speeds can vary, but SSDs are already very fast so it there shouldn’t be any risk of some transfers being painfully slow. I actually searched for bad reviews, all I could find was a video on aYouTube channel that only makes videoes called «Reasons NOT to buy something», and the reasons it had for Sandisk was stuff like «The included Adobe Cloud subscription is just a gimmick! There aren’t enough storage options!» and I take that as a good sign lmao

I haven’t used a Sandisk external drive before, but I have used their memory cards and USB sticks and never had any issues with speed or failures :D I should mention however that I saw there has been many issues with a different line of products from them, the Extreme Pro hard drives, which would often fail. But they are the only ones I’ve seen that are bad, the Creator Pro which is the one you want is ok! 👌

As for the iPad question from your other ask, it should work with that too! As well as Windows and macOS :D

So to sum up, it seems to me like a solid product, and now I’m lowkey considering it myself lmao

Do you have any suggestions for a good backup for the iPad? I'm not very tech savvy so…what do I do? my icloud storage is full, it stopped taking backups a long time ago. Do I invest and pay for more storage? or should I just buy a hard drive and connect it to my ipad?

First of all, so so sorry I’m so late for this!! 💔 Second, to the answer!

Ok so, I’m a very recent iPad haver so I’m not that educated. But! What you basically need to think about, is what’s more important: cost, or conveniance.

You can ofc pay for more iCloud storage, which is more convenient since it backups automatically, but you have to keep paying to keep it up and if you have to stop the subscription for whatever reason, you need to put your files somewhere else or they might be deleted (I think).

For external options you can either get an external drive and copy your files over manually, but it takes more work and you have to remember to hook it up and all of that. You can also download iTunes on your computer and use this to do backups which takes care of copying everything for you! But you’ll need to have enough space on your computer, unless there’s an option to use iTunes to back it up to an external drive (you’ll still need the computer tho ofc)

Soooo, it depends on what’s more important! If you know you might forget or be like «urg i don’t wanna have to hook up the external drive» them I’d say go for more iCloud! Otherwise if you’d like more control and don’t mind the minor amount of labor, go for an external drive! And use iTunes to automate the process ❤️
