commence the hard-boiled eggs that were his eyes. he didn't even realize he had company, thinking about nothing and everything at once. how did he get here? where did endo even go? matter of fact, doesn't matter. now that he's standing gormlessly, it's evident how utterly bored he was. it was too cold to do anything outside without freezing in a matter of minutes, and no matter how fire-y he looked, he wasn't exactly made of the stuff.
his gaze blurs ( not like he could really make any image of a face unless he tried really hard ) while darkness and bright white coincide together. oh. that's a person talking. oh. he's heard him before.

All this talk about kidnapping him, and only now he wants to owl-nap a certain redhead. Surely, he could at least leave a trail of McDonald's fries from Noroshi to a bag, and he'll have caught the firestarter himself. A foolproof plan.
sakura severely underestimated how high maintenance he was, because why would he touch food touching the ground? that filthy animal... arriving just in time to see that scheming, half-baked halfie standing there grinning.

The older teen was showing up more and more nowadays; the questions were always confusing. If they weren't questions, they were random things the redhead wanted to do or say. This is what Endo deals with daily? "How should I know? You're the one over here askin' me about it?" What even was a Chad? Or a chud? How was he supposed to answer a question when he himself didn't understand what exactly he was referring to?

He pulled a smile back on his face as he let out a small chuckle to pretend a little longer. He couldn't care less what the other was doing -- he was used to it. Endo had to learn not to be clingy with the other. So if he wanted to go spend the night with someone else -- sure, go ahead. He shrugged it off for now.
" Mhm~ You are going to have a great time," he shrugged. " And if I remember."
" . . . if you remember? " endo needs to not tease him. they can't afford to buy new doors... i mean they could, but they rather spend that money elsewhere. " can you also remember that we need to find a new apartment soon? " every time they make new enemies, it's the same old settle-and-run.
whatever's brewing up in the other's head, he feels he's got it all wrong, and to make matters worse... chika never reassures him that nothing was going on between him and the bofurin leader.
his fixation was simply put, because umemiya fought back. now that was over, he could go back to being 'normal'. but he does owe it to him, and he's curious about sakura. maybe more about endo, too. enough to say his name.

Okay, yep, no. Chika terrifies him. He won't admit it out loud, though. "Nope. Not doing that." Even if he had been. He might admire the way that Chika fights, and he is not admitting to that EITHER, but he doesn't want to fight the other, no thanks.
"...yes." Friend was a loose term; Endo was just some guy who had his number and bothered him on the daily. Was he a friend? Maybe. He didn't know. He does, but he doesn't want to admit that Endo is a friend, which would make the other a bit too happy.
"Yeah. He gave it to me after the fight." He still doesn't know why he agreed - he blamed the adrenaline at the time. He knew it was a lie. He wanted to have his number. "Why? Don't you?"
already the first lie. he's lucky chika wasn't fond of lists, because if a shitlist existed, he may actually debut on it. " why not? if you want to demand something out of me, go do it. i won't hurt you. " now is he lying back to mock him...? or maybe there were real motives not to harm someone that mattered to the people that already impacted him thus far.

but it's not really a bad thing. he came to terms with that years ago.

"Maybe not, but I want to get to know you, and after that fight we had, I think I know enough to know that you're not a bad guy either." Umemiya smiled brightly towards him only to pause and raise a brow. Worse? What's worse than being friends? Wait, was he talking about their private relationship? How'd he even know about that? "He just doesn't know how to be your friend. That takes time, once you two get to know each other, it'll be easier. . . w-what? of course we're friends. . . What makes you think otherwise?"
good job...? doing what? he vaguely remembers some members talking about how furin does 'patrols' now, which is none of his concern. then of course, maybe he is good at his studies ( to no one's shock, takiishi scored very low ) and the minute he started to drift into other possibilities he scrunched his nose for a millisecond to recognize that yes, he did compare himself to the younger male. why would he do that?
maybe that's how he could properly get to the bottom of all this. that's why people said that idiotic saying, being in a shoe wasn't literal. " grade captain sounds serious. " definitely no leader, but close to one as it gets in his grade, right? he couldn't remember if they designated those titles when he was enrolled, or like always, didn't pay attention to what others did.

" or rather, again, he doesn't know how to change for the better. clearly something's working. never did he imagine to stop hating rain, after all. he can fall in and out of interest, and he can learn to like the many parts of what makes a person themself.

and for that, that's his greatest recognition. fighting is comfort.
oh, is umemiya rattled, now? did takiishi actually pinpoint something going on, or was endo's paranoia contagious?

" he's not stupid when it comes to endo's feelings either, he just wasn't too keen at love at the moment. friendship is still foreign and tangible to him. there's no innocence lost here. if all the strong people desire it, it must feel good, right? those people lied about it being a weakness and that it made you vulnerable, easy pickings when surviving is all that mattered. living a life was more than survival, and umemiya's love for people proved that affection enhanced it.
" i think they call it 'benefits', if you're stubborn enough to call him a friend. or do you want to keep him forever? " looming over him.
