This is right before (perhaps a couple of days) the two Eridian astrophage experts die, meaning Grace dosn’t have/ forced to go on the thip but also before they become mates!

Thats why Simon is very confused, because I imagine making ceremonial or really special clothing for a "friend" is prettu taboo. Usually you do that for a mate??? So is Grace just being friendly??? Who knows.

I love muscular Simon, I like to think he feels the need to move a lot because of his upbringing, so he tends to unintentionally and intentionally work out a lot.

HOWEVER. Since being on Erid and having available food that isn't rations, and healing from his eating disorder, he's been able a eat a healthy amount for him.

Yes he's technically muscular, BUT it isn't bodybuilding muscular but those fat stored muscles. I have no idea how to describe it, but yeah. It's one of those.

Rocky later realizes that Grace (and Simons) inhospitable atmosphere is actually a very effective way to protect them. No Eridian can have access to the humans without clearance through the biodomes lead director, Adrian.

That granted access comes with a 5 day training seminar. It covers how to put on the xeno suits correctly, to basic human etiquette when interacting with them, to an intense break down of ALL the ways an eridian can die inside that atmosphere and environment. At the end there is paperwork the Eridian must sign to have written proof that they learned all this and agreed.

Rocky himself had taught a few of those seminars, but only if he knows the eridian taking it. He either is the best expert there is, encouraging family or friends that they are in safe claws and the biomes goal is to protect them just as much as it is to protect the humans. OR. He’s the judge, jury, and executioner to whatever shmoozing politician or spoiled nepo hatchling who thinks that the biome is some kind of expensive funny zoo exhibit that they can use for their own means.

The Only eridians that get to have Grace himself as their biodome instructor are the children he teaches and their family chaperones. Tho the kids specifically are put into protective hamsterballs instead of full xeno suites.

Simon did lead the seminar exactly once. He was simultaneously very effective at explaining how dangerous this choice was and the importance of the protective gear, but also way to casual about some of the dangers and Extremely distractable to get off topic.
