the thing is, with madara & hashirama and their fighting as an expression of romance ... while its true that there's romance in it. its crucial i think to remember that only madara sees it that way. while hashirama .. he is shown to smile at madara during the vote fight and he compliments him on his strategies. but if it were up to him, they would not fight at all. he doesnt see or experience this in the same way that madara does, i dont think that he finds this romantic. madara is the only one who finds this romantic, HE is the one telling hashirama that he cant wait to fight him, looks forward to it, while theyre still in konoha and he's also the one that continuously seeks out those confrontations with him up 'til the end of the story/his life .. during the war arc. it is, again, madara who throws everything to the side (his entire life's work, mind you) just to fight hashirama and hashirama, again, is the one that denies that to him. he doesnt get that madara during the vote fight sees their violence as a means to connect and he doesnt see that he's trying to communicate something to him in this confrontation here either. for him its just senseless aggression. craziness, and he doesnt get it. thats why his patience runs out at some point and its true i think that he feels terrible abt it but i Still also think that he still finds it justified. and correct. its hurtful, emotionally, but ideologically, its correct. and he still thinks that even after his resurrection. still also prioritizes his duty to save the collective (the rest of the ppl on the field) over the individual (madara) here. and he does it more funny this time, its less cruel, he just tells him to wait but he literally tells him "i'll deal with u later" ... i'll deal with u later. as if dealing with madara is some kind of responsibility that he has here but not something he necessarily looks forward to lol. he doesnt look happy when madara finally forces him into it either. madara is important to hashirama but NEVER as important as he is to madara. madara romanticizes every single one of their conflicts, he keeps looking for it, he wants it, and he romanticizes even the stab in the back that he received from him years after it happened. hashirama on the other hand .. there is always something else there that is more important to him than madara is
