I’ve just sketched Loki in an hour or so. I don’t think I’ll finish this piece, so I’m posting it as it is

not-exactly-friends with benefits sort of relationship at first

but over time it became more of a romantic thing

not exactly a courtship, just something only they knew of

loki secretly wanted more than just flings but fandral worried about people (especially thor and the warriors) finding out

when they were younger loki would often find things to do by himself and fandral would always feel guilty for not including him

fandral was the first person loki told about his true heritage(but because of how vulnerable he was feeling he never actually shared that much info about it before he fell from the bifrost, which made fandral always wonder what more there was to the story)

fandral would always think about visiting loki in the dungeons, but knew other guards and prisoners would talk about it

i think fandral also knew that loki was pretending to be odin and swore not to say anything(cuz who is he to betray the allfather..)

(if we r following canon) when loki found out hela killed fandral, he later held a private ritual to honor him
