Amelia ~ Joni Mitchell

There are songs that I keep coming back to and binge on them and then leave again for awhile. The first time I really listened to this one by Joni I was out of my Joni Mitchell phase - I wanted plain old Rock'n'Roll that I didn’t need to think over…but there I was having dropped my son off after my access time….vulnerable and feeling small as I drove off into yet another dark lonely 100 mile drive home….It was on the tape deck and punched replay about five times before the false light of the city gave way to soft whir of starlight in the vast North Ontario sky.  Oh, Joni, I love this song…..as I listen again tonight looking out over the Thames thinking just how perfectly crafted this is!  The Tuesday Has Got Great Canadian Songs selection from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner.  Peace, love and catch some stardust, y'all!
