Okay, but what if when Dustin and Mike graduate they’re all bored and just wanna go eat but Nancy is being the proud older sister and insisting upon snapping photos. Later, when she’s developing them, she checks each one to make sure they came out well, until suddenly she picks up one that makes her heart drop.

She calls Mike immediately.

“Mike, get over here, and bring Dustin. There’s something in one of the pictures I took.”

Mike and Dustin fear that the Upside Down has come to Hawkins again, and they rush to the darkroom at Hawkins High. Robin and Steve are already there when they arrive, and their fear mounts.

“I-I don’t know how it’s possible,” Nancy sputters, holding a photo in her shaking hands. “Maybe there’s something wrong with the developing fluid, I don’t really—”

“Just show them the picture, Nance.” Steve cuts her off gently, and she holds the photo out to Mike and Dustin, who move closer to see it.

There, nestled between Mike and Dustin, arms around both and a lopsided graduation cap (obviously stolen) atop his long curls, is Eddie.

“I told you I’d always look after you little sheep…”
