“Wow, this place looks so cool!”  A tiny, excited voice echoes throughout the vast horizon.  Landscaped with dozens of trees amongst the beautiful countryside.  However, something was quite different that afternoon.

Much smaller than the man made of metal, Black Star freezes when she sees the large figure.  What on Earth was it, a statue?  Or was it a modern art piece someone abandoned?  That thing had to be as big as the Diamonds, maybe bigger!  The monochrome Diopside timidly approached, stopping when she heard a crunching sound,

so focused on maintaining the façade of a towering statue, the sudden intrusion of her voice caused him to become rather startled. seemingly distracted, even if it was only for a moment, his head slowly turned; creaking all the while, and bright yellow spotlights shift downward to look at her. 

he was too cautious to do much else.

giant only blinked; the light emitted shutting off each time, hoping that she’d leave.

Even though Black Star was consoling Giant, the much smaller being was starting to cry as well.  It pained her to see others sad.  Even though Giant couldn’t make tears like her, it was clear as day that he was upset.  “It’s.. It’s okay” Black Star choked, trying to wipe her salt-ladden tears out of her eyes.  “Juh.. Just let it out.. th-that’s it” a tiny grey hand reached up and rubbed circles on Giant’s side.  Though due to her being so small, he may not have even felt her attempts at physical comfort.

the  alien  robot  only  continued  to  sob  ,  too consumed by his emotions to reply to her in any meaningful manner. it seemed this breakdown was a very long time coming, less the cause of a singular event,            more; many events compounding over time. and despite how utterly devastating it may have been to watch, it was probably good that he get it out now instead of sleeping on it any longer; his nightmares might’ve been too much for him to handle.

and though he may not have reacted, he did notice her attempt to comfort him; and he appreciated it. it had been a long while since he’d been comforted by anything other than the animals that he so often found himself surrounded by, he’d almost begun to forget how nice it was. 

it may not have been all that comprehensible, but he did try to voice his appreciation of her efforts; though it was little more than various sounds, overshadowed by sobs.

Nobody ever talks about or draws fanart for Melbourne O’Reilly, and that makes me sad, because he’s one of my favourite characters from What’s New Scooby Doo.

the fifty - foot tall automaton’s face lit up, always happy to receive a compliment no matter where or who it came from.

a big, goofy smile spreads across Giant’s face as he turned to look at him; eventually croaking out a long, drawn out “ th - anks ”.

AND  THAT  WAS  ALL  THE  FIFTY  FOOT  TALL  AUTOMATON  NEEDED  TO  HEAR  IN  ORDER  TO  BREAK  DOWN  .  though Giant was unable to cry actual tears, he was still very clearly upset. eyes shut,       and he covered his face;  metal  body  shaking  as  he  whined  and  sobbed  .

SO  OFTEN  HAPPY  ,  THE  FEW  MOMENTS  WHEN  THE  ROBOT  WAS  UPSET  WERE  SO  INCREDIBLY  POWERFUL  AND  OVERWHELMING  .  he couldn’t cope.

quick reminder that people do not have control over what their brain remembers. they cannot choose to remember something, they didnt forget because they "didnt care", and they arent trying to get out of responsibilities

please, please, please stay patient with those who have memory issues. its already stressful and scary enough having to experience the memory issues and yelling at us, guilt tripping us, and punishing us isnt going to suddenly make us remember things more

we try every single day to remember as best as we can and even setting alarms and leaving reminders doesnt work every single time. we are trying our best. please just stay kind to us

THE  FIFTY  FOOT  TALL  AUTOMATON  MADE  NO  ATTEMPT  TO  HIDE  THE  FACT  THAT  HE  LIKED  DEAN  ,       and made even less of an attempt;  if  that  was  somehow  possible  ,  to hide the enjoyment that he found in the different nicknames that the artist would give him.  IT  MADE  THE  ROBOT  FEEL  WANTED  ,  AND  HE  LIKED  FEELING  WANTED  .

a  goofy  half  smile  formed  ,            and the automaton babbled something cheerfully in response.  (  this was his favourite so far  ).

Coral Fragments: How well does your muse deal with stress? Do they do anything in particular to help them deal with it, and if so what do they do? 

GIANT ISN’T THE BEST AT DEALING WITH HIS STRESS WHENEVER IT ARISES. It causes the automaton to panic, and can lead to Giant shutting himself off emotionally.       he does have a coping method though; and that’s taking himself to the forest, sitting down amongst the trees  /  in a clearing, and just soaking up the atmosphere. 

WHEN STRESSED, Giant also likes to be surrounded with animals. He doesn’t have to pet them (  though that also helps  ), just being around them also helps to calm him down.

WHY  AREN’T  ANIMALS  AFRAID  OF  GIANT  ?       well they used to be, but they aren’t now. Giant has become familiar with most animals, especially those that dwell in the forest. they know that he isn’t a threat, that the automaton will be gentle and kind, and won’t damage their homes. the animals know that Giant can be trusted.

THE  STATEMENT  CAUSED  A LARGE  SMILE  TO  FORM  ON  THE  FIFTY  FOOT  TALL  AUTOMATON’S  FACE  .  although he’d heard plenty of compliments from the humans that he lived amongst,       especially because he’d been around for so long, he’d never heard any such praise from somebody that was like him.  it  meant  a  lot  to  Giant  .

excited babbling followed shortly after,       most of it entirely incomprehensible nonsense; though his appreciation was clear.
