I burned myself out writing without taking breaks and my room took a whole month of cleaning up. Sorry I bailed without notice usually I can sense it coming but I didn’t this time. Imma write less per day so I can avoid having to leave at all but I hope you’re all doing well!

Good Omens ( although... i mostly only love the Crowley and Aziraphale scenes... ) and Nobody Owens from Neil Gaiman too, although I don’t remember the entire title. And a lot of books. It’s been a while since i’ve read books. It’s a sad realization. So it’s why I mostly don’t remember what i’ve read in my life xD that and a bad memory.

She flinches at his reaction. A misunderstanding, she hopes, in that he didn't notice her completely missing optical unit, "W-we have two, together. I-I lost one of mine a long time ago."
he flinches in return. a long silence stretches, ralph unmoving until a spasm or two shakes his frame. both eyes blink even though only one works. maybe if ralph had bothered to look. but he’s not used to people like him, is he? he shifts on his feet.
“ ralph didn’t mean any wrong… ”
he never does. ralph wants to look up. see for himself, but he doesn’t even dare do that right now. not when he’s in the wrong. so clearly in the wrong.
"You help just by being around. Two eyes are better than one, don't you think?" she gives a slightly forced smile. Her LED flickered yellow, not without her own stress at the situation, "B-but I won't force you to do anything. If you don't want to be around me, then you can go."
that first sentence doesn’t get anything out of him. it’s not true. logically speaking even ralph can see it’s not. then the second sentence has his already yellow led ( always yellow ) turn red. “ what about two eyes? ” it’s curt. perhaps a little bit offended. is she saying she’s better than ralph because she has two eyes and he has one? he squeezes his own fingers with his other hand, staring at her with a frown. “ ralph doesn’t have any problems! ” but he doesn’t tell her to go. he doesn’t mind her presence when she’s that far. she’s not in his bubble. it’s not like he owns the place.

ralph has nothing against kisses, really. they’re just… complicated and uncomfortable sometimes. for many reasons and the most obvious being the untimely twitches and spasms that can take his form hostage. they’re not something he can control, he knows, but it aggravates him all the same. he doesn’t even notice them half of the time anymore.
but he does now.right as he tries to press a short kiss on marie’s lips.
it ends up to be several kisses because his head won’t stay where ralph wants it and while it doesn’t smash into marie’s face like it happened to poor griffon, it’s still a little messy and a little strange.
and it almost angers him, but marie puts her hands on each side of his face.
his fingers twitch, but he can press a longer kiss to her lips without the fear of his teeth gnawing at her lips without restraint. however, his head stays at a slightly foreign angle probably for the both of them, but he prefers to keep his gaping scar away from her mouth.
"Safer, then." her tone is as soft as she can make it, making no move to approach the other android, not wanting to frighten him even more, "We can help each other."
the fact she doesn’t move has him less jittery. he’s watching her intently, however. ralph doesn’t like strangers. even though she’s not a human. so ralph doesn’t hate her. ralph just doesn’t trust her. “ ralph can’t help anyone. ralph just wants… ” he doesn’t finish that. because ralph has no idea what he wants anymore.

marie is a nice android. ralph likes her. likes her a lot. no, no, not an android. she’s not supposed to be one to the public eyes, is she? ralph doesn’t quite understand why all the shush shush around it, but he doesn’t mind. she’s marie either way. the one that made the first effort and brought him here. to safety. griffon and marie are weird, but not a bad weird.
when she comes closer ( she’s able to easily now; ralph’s not as jittery around her ), ralph doesn’t move. surely she’ll say what she wants, if she wants anything.
but all she does at first is rubbing her nose against his nose.
a little unfortunate twitch of his head breaks the contact, but a curious ralph brings their noses back together. and rubs it back.
it’s only later that he learns it has a name. an eskimo kiss.
ralph loves those. instantly. they’re soft. they’re funny. and they’re kisses that don’t quite reach his scars too much and thus don’t make him feel bad for it. they become common practice from ralph to marie.
so when he goes to nuzzle griffon’s nose one day…he might approach it a little too enthustiastically. and bumps their faces together instead.
but marie’s sounds when she laughs are worth it.
for some dumb reasons, the highlight function is transparent on the main blog??? its 2am so i’m not going to risk playing into the blog’s code, but yea imma fix that tomorrow because it’s a pain even for me.

“i live with a human and a lot of androids, but elijah is…” she pauses only briefly, considering her words. “elijah can be a lot to handle at the best of times, but he’d never hurt an android. he likes them too much. not a fan of humanity, but i trust him with my life. i have my own wing, you won’t even have to see him.”
he does bristle at ‘human’, but ralph trusts cori. it’s weird how he trusts her. scary. ralph’s been betrayed before. but surely cori’s not lying on her feelings, why would she... is she? he looks at her, hesitant, then a shrug ( a twitch? ) shakes his shoulders. “ ralph will follow you. cori’s place can’t be worst than the house. ” and if push comes to shove? ralph can still kill the human.

she knows every part of his coding - she supervised his construction, the specializations put in place to ensure he’d be capable of deviating right when they needed him to. tested countless of models before to make sure they could take back control once it happened. he was meant to be perfect. maybe too perfect. now he’s just another mess of plastic and programming that needs to be taken care of.
“the hope of humanity. the one that would save us from this blight.”
thea moves closer, no weapon on her, nothing to subdue him. non-threatening.
“you threw us away, connor. and then you stole from us. you can’t expect me to be alright with that.”
he steps back.
he doesn’t care she’s unarmed. any human working at cyberlife is not one he’ll let anywhere near him physically. he doesn’t know where that instinct comes from. whether it’s hank’s influence or the deviancy. he likes to think it’s hank’s.
“ i didn’t throw humanity away. ” she has a similar flair for the dramatic that kamski had. it makes him uncomfortable. “ i stopped answering to cyberlife. ”
and yes, for him it’s very different.
“ i work with humans, for humans. i just do it on my own terms instead of yours. ”
and he loves his job. he loves his home. he loves sumo. he’s found that while he’s able to be utterly ruthless when doing his job, he’s also capable of love, empathy and respect. it’s something he’s proud of.
ralph: is being his slightly unhinged self. everyone so far: *lowers, softens their voices or try to make him calm down*

“ ralph does! ” it’s a bit too loud, it’s a bit too much, but ralph, still, is being genuine. he nods, fingers twitching, but face lighting up happily. a strange smile stretches his lips and cracks his scars. he’s trying. very much. to have a better smile. but ralph finds smiling is hard. very hard. ralph hopes cori doesn’t mind. “ ralph trusts you. but... ” he tilts his head. “ why the worry? why would ralph need to trust you? ”
"Its alright, you're safe with me."
“ nowhere’s safe. nowhere. no, no, nowhere’s safe. ” it’s hard to tell whether he’s talking to the other android or himself at this point, but he’s shaking his head, hands twitching slightly. ralph keeps a reasonable distance, ready to run or attack.
nobody’s safe. nothing’s safe. nowhere’s safe.
