say what you want about Flowery, but Ralsei needed that flower to be the most arrogant, belittling fuck ever seen in a Dark World. he needed someone to bully him out of polite servitude and really express what he was thinking!!! and he needed someone to challenge the idea that the Prophecy is fixed and unchanging. that's why we should be putting respect on this flower's name!!!!! 🫡🌻💖

thoughts about the final boss of chapter 5:

everyone is correctly saying that Flowery has that "hero of his story" vibe, but what got me the second time is comparing that to Chapter 1 and Spade King. King claimed the exact damn thing, that to his people, he was a hero, while only to the Lightners was he the bad guy. We all know that wasn't true and King was and still is disliked by most. So the game presented a bit of moral conflict with the Darkners' right to want their fountain, but it was easy to brush it aside.

And now we revisit it with a new boss who is actually loved and whose wish is the people's wish. For every flower that shows up to assist him, the narration reminds us they have a good relationship with him, friends, family, partner. He is helped every step of the way. Flowery is what King wishes he was. It even shows in their battle animations, King had that iconic black cape, and Flowery has that, I think it's a jacket he holds by his shoulder cool anime guy style, and it ends up looking pretty much the same. Genius detail honestly.
