well, on the one hand. ‘naked’ even in modern English before the 20th century doesn’t necessarily mean ‘has no clothes on’ but ‘uncovered, exposed’ or ‘not wearing outer garments’ or just ‘not dressed for Being Out In Public’. and this is a deliberately old-fashioned English translation of something way older from a culture that probably has very different concepts of ‘exposed’ and ‘appropriate covering’ and generally ‘naked vs nude’

but

on the other hand

… it’s odysseus. it’s homer. of course he leapt up there and said HEY U GUYS U THOUGHT MY WIFE WOULD LOOK AT YOU LOOK I AM NAKED LOOK AT MY ENORMOUS…. BOW ARM.
