So I’ve been around for around a year now and I thought it might be fun to bring this account back and see if I could get any action on it. Looking for anything Marvel RP related but I would be happy to do some Civil War verse stuff as well.

“I’m feeling fine. I could have punched if that would have made you feel better.”
“Well, if it’s all the same to you I’m just fine without being punched. Seriously though, I promise it won’t suck if you just give it a try and there’s always red wine in the event it does suck.”

“While I could point out many flaws, boring is not on the list.” She gave him a playful grin.
“That was almost a compliment - are you sure you’re feeling okay?”

“I like Italian. And a good red wine.”
“Okay so now we have a plan. Italian food and red wine, hopefully I’m not so boring that you’d need to drink the whole bottle yourself.”

“I don’t like surprises, so is there a plan for this date?”
“I hadn’t really planned it out beyond you saying yes, so no. Now that I know you don’t like surprises, how about telling me what you do like?”

“Are you asking me out?”
“...that was the general idea, yeah. I’d ask you out and you’d say yes.”
This is your chance to earn that look in your daughter’s eyes, to become the hero that she already thinks you are.
Send my muse a word or phrase, and they’ll respond with what it makes them think of.

Despite what one may assume, Hope wasn’t one to over think her relationship status. She’d always been busy one way or the other, too much to even consider being in a relationship. All the previous ones she’d had (as few as they had been) hadn’t lasted that long, not when they couldn’t even know who her father was, who her mother had been and what she’d been working towards her entire life. It’s not exactly regular conversation to pull out during dinner and going ’Hey, yeah, my future plans include wearing the same tech as the Ant-Man’s suit and becoming the Wasp, just like my mother!’. Say that and watch them run out of there as fast as they could.
And when you’re trying to plot out with your estranged father how to make sure your current employer doesn’t get his hands on said tech, it complicates that much more. In between training, working, putting up appearances with your boss and planning out how to make sure the Pym Particle didn’t end up in his hands, dating wasn’t the top priority. But that had somewhat been relieved when Scott had entered the game at her father’s demand.
Despite not agreeing to his presence at first, all it took was a single heart-to-heart conversation and she could finally understand what Hank had seen in him. And despite the initial distaste of Scott, a sort of affection had grown. So much so that when the mission had finally ended, she’d found herself kissing him. Unplanned, though he didn’t seem to mind it in the least. Often had she considered dating someone in the same line of work as her, perhaps a partner from the company; and at finding herself developing—feelings for one Scott Lang, she couldn’t help but find the irony of the difference quite funny. However, she wouldn’t change a thing.
Hope hears the knock at the door from the bedroom, even as faint as it had sounded. But considering she wasn’t done getting ready, she doesn’t answer. He can wait a little bit, right? And then comes a text from him, making a brow raise as she reads it quietly, and with a quirk of her lips, Hope shakes her head before replying.
[Text]: The door is open, you can walk in and wait in the living room [Text]: Next time you might want to let me know exactly what time you’re picking me up
It’s a light teasing, one that is quite familiar among them by now, and she can’t help but make it. It’s also a form of relaxing from the anxiousness she feels at such an odd thing. Because despite her looks and motivations in life, she was a fairly simple woman and she could only hope Scott didn’t think he had to bring her to an expensive restaurant to impress her.
If her expectations weren’t high when it came to what they’d be doing that evening, they would be just fine. Truthfully, he wasn’t the type to try to win someone over with lavish gifts and impressive acts mostly because he didn’t have the means to provide them or desire to have them. A candlelit dinner at some fancy place wasn’t even a consideration - instead he hoped she’d be keen on doing something ... normal. Normal was a relative term, wasn’t it? Their normal today was nothing like their normal a few weeks ago, it had all changed.
None of this was his plan but he wasn’t about to complain about that kiss. For all he knew, the successful mission that day was the last time he’d see her. When she kissed him it changed everything he thought about her and even about himself. Scott had become adept at accepting things he couldn’t change - he never would be with his ex-wife again and he’d likely never be have the normal white picket fence life so many people enjoyed. Maybe she put nothing more into the act than just a moment of happiness but it had been on his mind since it happened.
A woman like Hope could have any guy and likely if she made the time she would have any guy. Scott was an ex-con, a somewhat decent hero at best and he’d been fired by Baskin Robbins. Listing things out in his head, nothing about them being moments away from a date made sense. She could do better and he knew her enough to know they both were aware of that. While the temptation to dwell on the ‘why’ was there he was much more consumed with the fact it was happening at all. “What we need a schedule now? I was just trying to surprise you but now I’m in your living room like I’m waiting at a dentist office or something. This is a little weird.”
His fingers left the surface of the screen after returning her texts as he shook his head slowly. She was a smart ass, just like him and just like him she was ready with a comment at a moments notice. What wasn’t there to like about her? Beauty, intelligence oh and by the way she was completely capable of kicking your ass. Standing near the couch, the debate of whether or not to sit down began before he pulled the phone back out to tap his fingers against the screen. “So since you’re taking so long, I’m raiding your fridge and making you a sandwich of whatever I find. Best first date ever, I know.” Of course, he hadn’t set foot in the kitchen and wouldn’t but the idea of putting at least a shred of doubt in her mind was worth it. Their interaction, the way she was ready to come right back at him - drove him wild. Every part of him hoped it worked out but what he wanted most was to not let her down. The last time he had exceeded her expectations it had ended well so with any luck things would continue trending upwards. “Besides, you don’t have to get really dressed up for drive thru.”

Having a good plan was the basis for succeeding in what you intended to do. Whether it was extracting revenge on a former employer, liberating something that didn’t belong to you or in this case making a good first impression. Truth be told, it wasn’t really a first impression as he’d spent most of his time recently leading up to that fateful day with her. Logic didn’t seem to apply to their association in any way - he couldn’t for the life of him figure out what it was she’d find appealing about him. Still, Scott wasn’t about to let a good opportunity slip through his fingers.
Despite the newly found fame that came with that all too well known suit, he’d remained mostly the same. Things were better now with Maggie, so much so that seeing Cassie on a regular basis was actually something they let him do now. Life hadn’t been going this well in a long time and while the apartment he shared with Luis wasn’t great it was a far cry from the jail cell he’d been in prior to it. So when the door closed that day and Hope leaned in for the kiss he’d been thinking about ever since there was no doubt that life was on an upward swing.
The part they didn’t tell you about being a superhero? There weren’t exactly regular paychecks, in fact there weren’t many ways at all to bring in money. Outside of a few peculiar messages from people with weird names like Nick Fury, he didn’t get much in the way of acknowledgement. While the low profile was nice, it didn’t exactly give him options when it came to showing Hope a good time. You didn’t exactly get a blueprint for how to live your life once you put a mask on and he was learning that lesson first hand.
Equal parts of being anxious and excited filled him as he maneuvered the van through evening traffic towards her place. Everything had happened so fast that he didn’t have time to plan out how this could go. In a heist, you always had to be aware of your exits and willing to ditch the plan at any time if things went south. Problem here was that he had no intention of exiting the situation because for the first time in a long time, he wanted something - he wanted this. The prospect of something normal, a relationship was so very necessary in his eyes to maintain whatever normalcy could be preserved in his life.
Hope was the epitome of everything he wanted to be - successful despite the odds, motivated to succeed and willing to put in the work to ensure that success. So when he pulled up to the curb and looked up at the house, it was no surprise the nerves hit him full force. The walk from the van to the front door was a blur, he was lost in his mind trying to find the right words. By the time he realized he had nothing in the way of clever greetings, his fist rapped gently upon the front door three times. Turning and running back to the van right now would assure him he wouldn’t screw this up but it also would guarantee this could never happen again and he wasn’t about to concede that.
The critical moment arrived when he began the internal debate. The doorbell - ring it now or wait? Ringing it would certainly give off the impression that he was anxious or perhaps impatient. Not ringing it would probably make her think that he wasn’t all that interested in seeing her. Cursing himself for overthinking something as trivial as the door bell, he pulled out his phone and with a proud smirk began typing a text message before sending it to her as he waited.
“I’m outside ... you’re not.”
