just finished katabasis and i genuienly think that all the people who complain about this book being bloated and poorly paced and dragging along just don't like flashbacks or character exploration or learning new things. im sorry but i had a fantastic fucking time with this book and even when parts of it were slow it was very necessary

Best moment of Katabasis so far is when they meet the cohort of dead students who voluntarily stay in Hell when they don't have to, because they'd rather stay charred ghosts if they're the charred ghosts of prestigious Oxbridge attendees rather than risk reincarnation as a farmer or laborer. That bit is C.S. Lewis-worthy.

The update sounded good but holy shit its so bad. If you add some generic "this is so cool" text to a post, that means the OP gets NO notes for anything after you. You cannot SEE the total notes on a post if someone else added text, you have open the original or you only see the notes for that branch.

Staff said this was to respect the valuable additions of commenters, but severing the notes from the OP means the OP is now disincentivized to reblog a post of theirs someone else made better (without trying to 1-up them with another comment, I guess).
