while i do agree that some people are pretty over the top with their complaints.
the customisation update has been in the works for two years. the update wasn’t fit for release. A lot of devs use ‘early access’ just as a sheild for if and when they decide to entirely break their own game. people are gonna be mad and understandably so.
phasmophobia is a multiplayer game and the update has pretty much entirely broken that functionality. It’s pretty evident that little to no testing was done. developers have to test their game before releasing updates and changes. it’s part of the whole deal when it comes to making games people pay for
I agree a lot of what they've done sucks but the way the community reacted wasn't the best.
I don't have explanations for everything you've said. I don't know why they didn't just push the release date forward.
I'm pretty sure they didn't want to use unity assets, so a large chunk of that time was used for that, possibility.
Maybe they did play test it and because they didn't have enough testers, or they just didn't see the jank, or they "got used too" the jank. because the community is larger than any play test can be there a lot that can be missed.
I deleted my original comment on phasmophobia because it's just a rant that could be easily confusing. But the small but loud part community is a little toxic and thats who I was talking about.
I don't care for how long they stay early access I just want them to do their job. And I am in no mean completely defending them I think the update shouldn't have been released or have been released in parts. its done and over with now all I can look at is now and hope that the future will bring better things for this game.
But they have made promises with the recent road map and if they don't follow through with that a lot of people will quit.
Apologizes for terrible grammar, hopefully this makes sense
