The Dark Day

​I run, I hide, but I am found.

The beat of the earth beneath my feet—

The only sound for miles.

​I was curious—far too curious.

I looked. I searched.

The clues as sharp as the scalpel in my hand.

​The cold slab of the morgue, a distant memory,

Replaced by the chill of the trees.

I shouldn’t have gone this far.

​I wanted answers. I needed answers.

But this was not the truth I sought.

​I was the researcher. The analyser.

The one who searched frigid bodies for light.

Now my own flesh will yield the answers.

​Gone is the examiner.

I am the final girl.

Painting: The Four Seasons

These paintings were born from observing the four seasons and their effects on nature.

The foundation of all four works is black and white, with one color added to represent each season and its influence.

I took special care to include one horse in each painting, changing its position and tonal values, even within a black and white palette.

I’d love to know which season resonates most with you.
