Keran chuckles at the mage’s words and seems to think about it. Then he shakes his head.

“Too obvious I fear. With the current… climate… of the Gallows, it is quite likely that it could be understood he was murdered and mages would be considered guilty.”

Keran presses his lips together, thoughtfully.

“If we can manage to bring him close to the lower rocks by the shores… A simple shove and it would be done. With that armor you sink like a stone. It would be thought as a Tragic Accident.”

“You would not happen to know if Karras has a vice for drinking...in addition to his others, would you?” If Karras could be made drunk enough, he could likely be led anywhere, including to his death. That was his first thought; the other he did not wish to voice just yet as it meant endangering one of his own students.

He jokes, but then he gets serious and nods again. “I personally was thinking of drowning him.”

“I confess a better phrasing escapes me as well,” Devin admitted, his expression relaxing and his tone lighter, “Perhaps if I had grown into a noble like my family expected I might be able to give you one.”

“I would prefer burning that piece of scum alive in all honesty, but that would be very hard to do without raising suspicion.” He paused, it suddenly occurring to him to wonder just what his family would think if they could see him now. Father at least would agree that Karras is a beast that needs putting down, I think.

“Drowning, however, sounds more than reasonable given the Gallows’ location. Plus it is an unpleasant way to die from what I understand. Poisoning is also an option. Maker knows there more than enough reagents in the Circle’s stores to concoct something quite nasty.”
