I'm a normal girl who has never been that big - but as I get older, I'm having to work a lot harder to stay as thin as I'd like. This is my journey from 150 lbs down to a more normal, ideal weight. This blog started as a desperate attempt to get motivated. I didn't care how I lost it as long as it was gone. But through the motivation of my fellow tumblr..ers I've gotten really excited about re-examining my diet and exercise and the tone of this blog has changed a little. Maybe it's progress, maybe it's seeing that getting super toned is possible, but now I'm excited about what I'm doing and I just want to share that feeling! I want everyone to know they CAN do this and it doesn't take as much work as you'd even think. I'm about to start experimenting with paleo/primal when I finish reading The Primal Blueprint to see if I can take my body to the next level. I've never taken it all the way, I've always just stopped at "good enough" so I'd love to see where I can go. Plus, the entire concept is so interesting to me. It makes sense. I'll miss you, mac&cheese. and Doritos. Age: Upper 20s, Height: 5'2" HW: 151 lbs. LW: 112 lbs. SW: 149 lbs. CW: 147 143!! 139.1 134.3 132.5 lbs. LOL 140 AGAIN!!!! GW1: 138 GW2: 135 GW3: 133 GW4: 129 GW5: 125 GW6: ....you know what, if I look awesome, who cares how much I weigh? My diet/exercise plan
Hope you’ve been doing your squats, because Fit Girl Thin is about to become a whole lot of journey, because I’ve been slacking.
Like, majorly. I read old posts complaining about being stuck at 141 and I would DIE to weigh that right now. Seriously. Me and the 150′s got really tight the past year.
Thank you, red wine.
I’m trying some new supplements, getting some new workouts in, and most importantly - I’m a proud member of the Peloton family. Cycling from the comfort at the home has been life changing and I can’t wait to see how it impacts my journey.
Anyone else hopping back on the saddle as of late?
One thing I have trouble with is setting OBTAINABLE goals come new year. People make this mistake pretty often - making resolutions like "I want to lose weight!" "I want to eat healthy!" Without specifics, you'll most certainly fail. Without a clear goal, it's hard to make progress. That's why I really thought long and hard about my goals this year. Not only what I wanted to accomplish, but how. My goals for the year are as follows: 1. Log all activity on MFP/Fitbit including food, activity, and sleep. 2. Get in 50,000 steps a week (and wear my fitbit every day!) 3. Eat clean 80% of the time - 10/14 meals (since I don't often eat breakfast) 4. Drink tea, limit soda to once a day 5. Drink alcohol less than two days a week 6. Try yoga at my gym 7. Actually finish Couch25k 8. Do something active every day - even if it's just walking the dog 9. This one is lofty- but I'd like to cut my body fat percentage by 10%. 10. And weight is just a number - but I'd like mine to be back in the 130s. What are your year goals?
PS - it was probably an impulse emotional buy, but I've been LOVING ab cuts pre-workout drink so much that I jumped on some other supplements today from GNC. They've got 25% off online today only and it stacked with a BOGO and my gold member discount so I got them for like $50.
I'm actually not taking anything right now. I was on the Be Hot and actually felt like it was doing some good, but ran out and wanted to try something new. I'll be taking the thermo on days I don't wake up and do the cardio blast drink and I've heard good things about the dreamweaver, which I wanted for sleeping purposes. Any fat burning that happens beyond that is just a bonus!
So you know, at least one good thing happened today.
Just a quick chat to get some feelings out of me that are negative. I'm just feeling INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED because my weight isn't. budging. It seems like every time I've done this before I've started working out, dropped an easy five pounds, and then started eating healthy and settled down in the low 130s naturally. Now I feel like my workouts are kicking my butt and my eating is pretty terrible and nothing is going anywhere.
Day after day after day. 141. Nothing moves, nothing changes. I do cardio sculpt 2 days a week, I run 2 days a week, I eat clean on week days as much as possible, and the scale rewards me with a five pound gain after a beer on the weekend.
I mean, at what point do you just give up and say, "Whatever, this is my life and my body now." At what point am I like, "Hey, I'm 29. I guess my metabolism is just like this now and I can never eat pizza again so I might as well drown my sorrows in a burger and a whole bottle of wine."
Just feeling kind of down. According to the numbers and effort I should be at least comfortably 137ish right now and not struggling to drop ONE POUND.
PS CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT IS COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT. #themoreyouknow
Anyone ever just feel like the work they do goes to waste?
Yeah! Finished Week 2 of C25K this week, Started Week 3 today (which is the farthest I've ever made it). I had another one of those moments where I almost started crying because I was feeling all sappy and proud of myself. Damn endorphins.
Also, I've been hitting up cardio sculpt a few times a week and it's legit! The girl that teaches it is JUST tough enough and does some really great interval training. And her ab exercises are insane. I'm loving it.
Have i lost any weight? No. Still drink too much beer. But I'm feeling a little bit like I'm losing some fat/inches/toning a bit. My arms are looking decidedly less sausage-like lately. I'll take it.
Alright, fitches (I'm gonna start using that for my fit bitches! what up!) here's what I've been up to this week.
Couch 2 5K - still going strong, started week 2 today. My pace is slower inside than out, (14/mile vs 12/mile) but I'm feeling good and enjoying the runs. MOST OF THAT, is because of the magic juice I discovered at GNC this week, Ab Cuts Sleek & Lean Core Cardio Blast. Look, I'm not gonna know if it's blasting fat for a while, but it's helping me get out of bed at 6am and hit the gym, something I have NEVER done. I love the energy I get for my workouts, so I would basically pay anything for that if it keeps working like it has.
B - Upgraded my gym membership to plus, so I can go to classes and the smaller plus gym now! I LOVE the weight room in the plus gym. It's legit and there's hardly anyone in there so I don't have to worry about some dude staring at my nipples (because they tend to get hard when I'm putting in werk).
I tried Cardio Sculpt class last night and it's legit! High intensity intervals with jumprope, pushups, and a lot of killer ab work. My friend E said she officially has TWO abs out of her six pack because of this girl. I think I might start going two nights a week whenever she goes. It's hard, but it's fun and it mixes up my routine so my body keeps guessing.
Finally, I'm really considering what's next. I've slacked for the past year and am sitting pretty at 140 and fluffy, so I want to blast some fat and get down to the muscle. Should I do P90X again? Try Jamie Eason's LiveFit again? Go for Making the Cut from JM? Or just wing it in the gym and see what happens? I'd like to see C25K all the way through this time, but I need to do some serious lifting if I want to see abs before summer is over. And arms. And BOOTY.
