Report: Super Bowl ticket prices may double under new plan
The Wall Street Journal reports the NFL is likely to approve a plan that would more than double prices of some Super Bowl tickets, according to league officials.
Club-level seats at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium are likely to cost about $2,600, the league officials said to WSJ. Top tickets to last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans were $1,250.
In a statement to the Journal, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league is considering the plan because it is interested in capturing some of the value it has been yielding to fans and brokers who resell their tickets at a markup. “We are looking to close the gap between the face value of the ticket and the true value of a ticket to what has become the premier sports and entertainment event,” he said.

Two Years of Occupy
Today marks the beginning of the third year since Occupy Wall Street activists got off the Internet and began their real-world occupation at Zuccotti Park. Inspired by the home of the Egyptian revolution at Tahrir Square — tahrir means “Liberty” in Arabic — the new occupiers restored the park’s original name, Liberty Plaza. (Some also called it “Liberty Square.”) In the two months of the occupation, many thousands of people came from far and wide to converge on that magnetic, contested space.
Zuccotti Park was first called “Liberty Plaza” for good reason. It’s situated in a neighborhood that has been the site of struggles for liberation ever since European colonists first arrived. Occupy added one more chapter to an area already steeped in a history of resistance. Keep reading …
Nobody can honestly argue that background checks, magazine limits and restrictions on domestic abusers diminish most citizens’ ability to defend themselves. Likewise, nobody can honestly argue such policies are an indiscriminate effort to confiscate all guns. Yet, that’s exactly what is argued by gun advocates in campaign mailers and in conservative media. And even though such arguments are patently absurd, they can succeed because they aren’t about substance. Instead, they are designed to generate resentment against a perceived cultural affront.

Miss Kansas is tired of your racist shit America.
!!!
Even the contestant they were touting as “real” Miss America because she’d done military service does not care for this shit.
Why would you do this to your cat?
The CDC has released a first-of-its-kind report detailing the threat of antibiotic-resistant bacteria to our health and food supply. It is not pretty.
Within the report (you can read it here, it’s very layman-accessible) lies threat assessments for a whole range of disease-causing microbes, from famous foes like methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to lesser-known dangers like Clostridium dificile and drug-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae (yes, that last one does exactly what you think it does).
Thousands of people are killed by such infections every year. They inflict billions of dollars of medical costs and lost wages. The drug-development pipeline for new antibiotics is almost empty. New tools like fecal transplants and phage therapy are hopeful but still experimental, and at least a decade away. So what do we do?
The CDC calls for safer use of antibiotics, both in hospitals and on farms, and increased screening and vaccination efforts. But CDC director Tom Frieden put it plainly:
"If we are not careful, we will soon be in a post-antibiotic era."
Unless we do something to reverse this trend, and fast, it’s high time to tuck your head between your knees. We’re either on a plane that’s going down, or we’re about to get paddled. The choice of metaphors is yours.
For now, educate yourself, make sure your doctors are educated, call for action if you can vote … and if there’s any budding biologists out there, we’ve got plenty of new problems for you to solve. We’re gonna need your help.
"Pretty much everybody in our group of friends has a different personality, but everyone smokes weed." "Can you photoshop wizard hats into our picture?" "And dragons."

For sale: totally not haunted, we promise. Like we pinky swear. No wailing child ghosts. No endless walls of text about the coming of the end times appearing on chalk boards when you turn your back. No creepy singing. Totally cool.
honestly who needs ghosts when we’re probably dealing with a cracked foundation and tons of water damage
you could make a horror movie about people who buy a perfectly mundane house without an inspection and I wouldn’t even be able to watch, too scary
THERE WAS A MOVIE IN THE 80’S CALLED THE MONEY PIT THAT WAS ABOUT THAT. Although it was a comedy.
