in a dream i am with the clouds and from the sky i found myself on a shore, walking towards a lighthouse almost submerged underwater. its light blazes on, azure and white heat veining the water. cupped in my hands is a fragment of an old relic enveloped by crisp, old paper—a letter from a past i do not remember. i trudge forward to the beacon. the sea is heavy, but so is light. i do not sink.
