I come to you to ask for guidance in translations. For your help so the words I try to speak come naturally to me. Grant me strength to create connections with others in languages that are not my own.

I ask for encouragement when I struggle, and help remind me why I have decided to learn these tongues, different from what I am used to.

Be with me, Lord Hermes, and aid me as I continue to learn and understand new topics.

this is my first time writing a prayer!!! I was inspired by @khaire-traveler 's prayer to apollon for tests and since I started (trying to) learn ukrainian again, I wanted to share with you all :3

Absolutely be political in your worship.

Aphrodite isn't called Pandemos (of All People) so you can sit around and let the big names capitalise love and serve it only to those who can afford to pay past the persecution. Hermes isn't called Oeopolus (Shepherd) so you can sit around and let a bunch of power-hungry wolves lead a flock of influencable sheep. Apollo isn't called Paean (Healer) so you can sit around while wealthy corporations serve healthcare only to those who can afford not to die. Athena isn't called Ambulia (Counsellor) so you can sit around while the people are being fed propaganda against each other to divert them from the real enemy at the top. Dionysus isn't called Eleuthereus (the Liberator) so you can sit around while freedom is only granted to those whose skins have the acceptable colour while the others die in chains. Zeus isn't called Xenios (of the Foreigners) so you can sit around while the borders are closed to those who need it and only open to those who can give back the money.

The Gods stand with the oppressed, and so should you.

I really don't wanna judge anyone's practice and relationship with their own gods I guess each one views them differently but how are you, as an Apollo devotee telling me, another Apollo devotee altho honestly that hardly matters, that people who get excited or cry over concerts and artists and live music are hysterical and ridiculous ???? make it make sense it pissed me out so much istfg I'm genuinely so angry let people enjoy things challenge

Someone I know also works with greek deities and I'm always very reserved about my practice but I figured I could talk about it with her why not specially since I have a very strong very important to me bond with Apollo and Artemis and she's always saying how much she loves Apollo and how much he loves her. Imagine my face when this girl says "how can you like Zeus? Specially you with everything you've been through" (sa trauma) and "It's not that I hate Artemis but meh idc about her I'm more of an Aphrodite girl and they don't get along" and "Demeter is a Helicopter mom" and "Leto is cool ig but she's kinda a side character in my opinion" and "Oh come on sure Apollo is god of plagues but he's just such a twink bi energy cool bro" and the list goes on by the way

I was raised catholic and then for some time I was an atheist so I never thought my catholic background would influence my practice with my deities now, BUT TELL ME WHY I WAS SUPER TIRED BARELY THINKING AND WHEN I WENT TO TALK TO APOLLO I JUST WENT "Forgive me father for i have sinned" WITH A STRAIGHT FACE.
