We had to put Curry down today.

He was hiding and suffering and looked like he was trying to smother himself. 

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, spells, whatever while he was sick.

I really am a horrible cat owner.

I got a thing of baby food. And took a spoon. Dipped it in the baby food. And mushed it against Curry’s lips. 

He’s still licking his lips. Which means he still cares somewhat about his appearance. 

And hey, it’s getting food into him. He doesn’t like it, but…food’s getting into him.

Curry Update

We’re pretty sure Curry can’t smell and that’s why he’s not eating…

He hears the food and comes. But he can’t smell. And if you’ve ever had a cold that’s stuffed your nose up, you don’t want to eat because you can’t smell the food. 

He definately WANTS to eat. 

But we’re pretty sure he’s not eating because he can’t smell the food.

Curry Update

It’s worrying. 

We’re pretty sure he’s not eating. He’s showing interest in food. He still begs for lunchmeat. But when offered food, he won’t eat.

And the worrying about Curry really starts...

We pilled the cats against fleas. That was a disaster. >_< 

To placate them, we offered treats and lunchmeat and made sure they had lots of food and fresh water (we give them fresh water and wet food in the morning, refill dry food as needed - they always have dry food available to them. Sometimes we refill the fresh water a couple times during the day.) 

Curry begged for the lunchmeat and then wouldn’t eat it.

Quick Curry Update Before I Stop Procrastinating.

We went to the vet today. Curry had a follow-up appointment and Nebula needed to get some vaccines. Also, Mom wanted to ask about flea stuff because GOD DAMN THESE AWFUL FLEAS! 

Anyway.  

Well, the tumor has possibly eaten through the nosebone. That’s about it. It has not grown into his brain. It is swelling a bit into his eye. But he can still see out of that eye. There’s no pain. He still does Curry things - chasing puffballs, eating lunchmeat and tuna (he loves lunchmeat and tuna), headbops, etc.

We took him off the steroid because it’s not doing anything except making him more aggressive. 

According to the vet, because all the chasing is right now is chasing, hissing, and a bit of claw-less swatting, Curry and Nebbie might be playing. It’s when one starts mauling the other that we should worry. 

As far as the tumor goes, there’s really nothing we can tell as far as how long Curry has. It could be a very aggressive tumor that will kill Curry by the end of this year. Or it could be one of those tumors that gets big really fast and then just sits there and does nothing for years. Or it could be that Curry’s had the tumor for years and we haven’t known about it and he’s coming to the end of his life. 

So, we’re just keeping an eye on Curry for now and trying to keep him comfortable. 

Please keep praying for him. 

Note: I sound a lot more mature in my typing of this than I actually am when talking about it verbally.

Curry Update

So, for those of you who haven’t been keeping up, my cat Curry was taken to the vet yesterday because my mom and I noticed some very troubling swelling on his face. The vet told us after an X-Ray that there was a solid mass in his sinus cavity that was not supposed to be there and more than likely it was cancerous. So Curry was put on antibiotic because he’d also been sneezing and the vet said that it might be due to a secondary sinus infection so she wanted to combat that. And Curry was put on steroids. 

When looking at him this morning, Mom and I both noticed that the swelling in his face has gone down.
