True Love
“I saw a statue of two angels holding each other….over that woman’s grave, her husband paid for it. He put her on the left and left a spot to the right, for himself when the time would come.
I looked up at the stone, the wings, the eyes,
That was love.
And I knew deep inside, my true love would never show me, feel this, experience this kind of love for me. My heart broke to see it in front of me, the truth.
One year later, my true love would break his body and soul to wrap me up in warmth and comfort. I acted brash and moody and silly and he confessed it was part of the charm. He said it was alright, it was his job to make me happy.
The day I lose him I fear I’ll be consumed by a pause, I’ll never move on, I rather feel his memory than replace them, no one else could take care of me like he does.
I thought, what will he do if I go first? And I knew, one year later, he would never leave my grave. He would be consumed by my memory and never move on.
We can’t help it, it’s our love.”
