Achilles:

✩ Achilles is a show off, through and through. He likes to challenge you to silly competitions that you can't beat him at. "Race you there?" Just to watch you pout when you bring up how he'll win no matter what. Sometimes he'll let you win, other time he'll do laps around you just to see you huff.

✩ Big on acts of service. Somehow he's never to far off when you need help. He'll hold open doors, carry anything that you might be holding for you, carrying you on his back if your legs look tired, fetch you something to eat if you seem hungry. Leave it to him. He's on it.

Mori:

✩ Mori is sort of like a cat who leaves dead birds on your doorstep, except instead of dead birds it's the slaying of your enemies. This isn't the only way he shows affection, but he will dedicate himself to taking out any enemy you have. Just tell him who needs to go.

✩ But also quality time. Whether it be having tea together, or him polishing parts of his armour while you talk about whatever you want in the background. He's happy to just have you there. It also gives him peace of mind, because no one is going to take you out while you're around him.

Yan Qing:

✩ Yan Qing likes to surprise you by sneaking up behind you and putting his hands over your eyes. "Guess who?" It's him. You know that. Or sometimes he goes "got you now!" and just wraps his arms around you from behind, refusing to let you free.

✩ Physical touch king. If you're in his vicinity and he's not trying to fight something his hands are on you or is encouraging you to hold onto him. ✩ Dantes already knows all of Master's secrets, whether they have shared them with him or not. He won't even make them aware of just how much he knows about them, his accomplice, he knows what you fear and what you dream, but fret not he shall carry it all with him to the very end.

✩ Da Vinci is great to tell worries and secrets to as she seems to know when the best time is to just provide advice and when's the best time to just listen. And she won't tell anyone unless given permission by Master.

✩ Mash is in the same boat as Da Vinci but Master's secrets are like little treasures to her because they entrusted such information to her. She will guard their secrets and worries as dilligently as she would with her shield on the battlefield.

✩ Morgan considers it her duty to know her Master's secrets and worries. There is no need to hide it from her she will not view you in a negative light as she views you worthy enough to even deem her Master. She will not share them with anyone else, no matter who it is that asks.

✩ You know funnily enough, Baobhan Sith, would also be a good person to tell things to. She might make fun of her Master or sometimes laugh at some of their worries but she does take them very seriously and would be mad if she found out they shared them with someone else.

✩ Emiya lends a very understanding ear no matter what Master wants to share. With so many servants about and so much responsibility they probably need someone they can just tell something to without judgement. He tries his best to be that person with a homecooked meal in hand.

Posting this at a very interaction unfriendly time, but I finished my design for @catmask and @frogcroaks monster mayhem contest!!! I never get around to actually completing entries for contests im interested in, so I couldn’t be happier!!

All that said, here’s The Sandwaste Harpy! I love her a lot and prooooobably should have linked this tumblr post for my submission cause I’m about to give even more design context and such, but. Oops. 😭 I was very excited and impatient. But yeah! More info below :]

So I almost immediately knew I wanted to draw a weird half-woman siren/harpy sort of design, as that is just my guilty pleasure and comfort zone. And I really needed a comfort zone cause I am so busy with school and my hand is HURTING. Back on track though, from there I wanted to make a creature that lures weary travelers to oasis to drown and eat them

These were some of my main inspirations, some got more attention than others. The sandfish was surprisingly my biggest inspiration though, despite how things turned out. I also took some inspiration from general reptilian and more specifically snake-like features. As well as taking the idea of upper and lower body coloring from sea creatures as a means to better camouflage with the light from above or darkness from below.

I was struggling with inspiration from there though, before I saw an unrelated monster design that leaned into the more monster woman design, with many heads at the front of it’s more monster parts chest. Which inspired me to design chicks and have them latch onto the plume, akin to how mother opossums look with all their babies. It made the design go from appealing to completely endearing to me in moments.

I imagine they are also similar to opossums in many ways involving caring for their young. One thing I note is how when an opossum mothers den is unsafe, she will leave her children and return at night/when it’s quiet and try to retrieve them when it’s safe. I’ve had that happen with an opossum mom who left around 12 of her babies in my garage in a soda can box and they were all so cute and I made sure they were left alone. BACK ON TOPIC THOUGH.

I did mess around with speckling in the design, but couldn’t find a way to convey that in a way I enjoyed, hopefully the sand coloring carries this on its own. She also originally had black hair but I accidentally made her blonde and realized how much i enjoyed that in her palette anyway and how it would better camouflage too.

Camouflage is not my favorite word to spell.

But yeah otherwise this piece also acted as a means to try out a new approach to line art. No pen pressure. I realized most artists who use defined line art I enjoy, do not use pen pressure and I often don’t enjoy the looks of high pen pressure inking in my own works so why. Was I using pen pressure. I don’t know. Anyway I love how this looks and it was so easy on my pained wrists so I will have to do more of this :]!!!
