I just...wanna lay down on these places, sleep among the nature, and forever live in the isle of dreams....
“It’s been raining for days.”
“Looks like the rainy season is finally here.”
“Shall I put on a pot of tea?”
“Turn up the heat/put another log on the fire, the rain brought a chill.”
“Close the window, you’ll ruin the flooring!”
“You’re sopping wet.”
“What on earth were you doing out there?”
“Fine, you can come in, but take off your shoes.”
“I don’t need you tracking mud everywhere.”
“The sound of rain is so nice.”
“You’re going out? In this?”
“You can’t go out there, it’s pouring down rain!”
“I like the rain and all, but being stuck inside is so boring.”
“The day would be a lot less boring if you learned how to sit still.”
“I cannot believe we’re stuck in this!”
“Maybe we should find somewhere to take cover until it stops.”
“Does it ever stop raining here?”
“Oh no! The rain ruined our picnic.”
“Want to go for a walk in the rain?”
“Can I have a blanket?”
“Sorry to intrude. This rain came out of nowhere.”
“Look at the sky! The lightning is insane.”
“It’s getting pretty intense out there.”
“A rainy day, warm blankets, a cup of tea, and a book to tie it all together.”
“Let’s go for a walk in the rain.”
“Here, this should warm you up.”
“Come in here before you catch a cold.”
“Ugh, that’s just a silly old wives’ tale.”
“I pity the poor souls caught out in this.”
“Aren’t there any books to read?”
“Rains smells so different in the city.”
“The rain smells better in the countryside.”
“Nothing like the sound of rain to go with a good book.”
“Careful, the tea is still hot.”
-draws on the fogged up windows-
-Flips loudly through book-
-sighs- “It’s so cozy in here.”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again since no-one has yet given me a valid reason as to why James Potter, lacking a wand, didn’t just transform into Prongs when Voldy turned up and like… fucking spear him. Why didn’t he do that? Like I don’t care how astonishingly powerful a dark wizard he was, no-one could ever be prepared for walking into a house and there’s just… a massive fuck off stag staring you down? How could you possibly react to that?
You couldn’t, giving said stag the opportunity to put an antler through his eye and save the day. Not to mention, can you imagine the Prophet headlines if that was how it’d gone down?
Valid reason coming your way….
You need a wand to assume your Animagus form.
You definitely don’t… Sirius did it in Azkaban.
Aha good point then yeah he should have impaled that motherfucker
He was unregistrated, right? I mean.. sure, he would have killed the dark lord, but still, it’s a crime. And then there’s the fact that the others were animagi too, which would lead to them being exposed and most certainly being accused of not getting themselves a registration. Their connections to Remus would be obvious, and I think he’d be exposed too. We all learned about the problems lycantrophy causes, and I don’t think James would have been stupid enough to risk that his best friend lost everything.
To be fair, you try telling the guy who FUCKING IMPALED Voldemort that he had to go to jail for being unregistered.
Also, it’s the ministry of magic. You could literally say that someone had created a stag by whatever means, and they’d buy it.
Another superlative point—"Where did the stag—yes, it was definitely a stag not a deer note that down please—where did it come from you ask? Oh, absolutely haven’t the foggiest Mister Minister Sir—it was just sort of there. Passing through I suppose.“
”…Passing through.“
“Yes.”
“Through your hallway.”
“Yes.”
“And stabbed Voldemort through the eye.”
“Through the eye, yes, and right through the brain: ghastly stuff, Minister, felt absolutely horrid.”
“It felt horrid?”
“I mean… I imagine so.”
“… right. And where did this deer go?”
“Oh, it vanished, Sir, quite spontaneously.”
“…uhuh. So the stag just wandered into your home, skewered a dark wizard, disapeared, and you saw neither where it came from nor where it went.”
“That’s about the size of it, yes.”
“… Yeah okay that sounds legit job done lads.”
Also you cannot tell me that James Potter gave two shits about whether or not it was illegal
You can’t tell me that Lily wouldn’t say, with a completely straight face, that it was a surprisingly solid Patronus.
James’ best class was Transfiguration. “I made a stag from the coat stand.” “Oh, of course. Excellent job, sir.”

This is why I have this. Even if they can get the lock opened they can’t push the door open. Got it at Lowes for $20.
reblog for that last bit to save a life
If you’re like me and have a large gap under your front door (someone could take a stick and just poke the leaning stick style door jam out), I recommend the Addalock. It’s small, perfect for traveling, and this lock is CRAZY. It’s so simple but the door does not move.
You can’t see it from the other side, either. It also cost about $20, and I can’t recommend it enough. Easy to travel with, too! Great for Air BnBs!
That’s why I have these on my doors. They get drilled into the side and once its flipped over the door nothing is getting it open. Not the door being unlocked nothing, I’ve unlocked the door and pulled and pushed as hard as I could and it didn’t budge. When I go on a trip this is what I use and when I’m home I leave it on too. No one is getting in here.
Okay I know that it is necessary for many but what do you do if you need medical attention and you’re not able to open the door from the inside? Can the fire department get through these at least?
Yes. The fire department can and will break down your door if necessary, it’s one of the reasons they have axes; it’s entirely possible for door frames to melt/expand/seize or otherwise become unopenable during a house fire but the door itself can be hacked down. Or the window. In rare cases, the wall. Firefighters don’t fuck around with collateral damage when lives are at stake.
me: okay, before we go through with this, i just have one question. is the aversion to garlic like, a lactose intolerance thing where you can consume it but you’ll regret it later, or is it more of a severe, potentially lethal allergic reaction kinda sitch?
vampire: *pausing mid-bite* why… does it matter?
me: i’m just not sure if this immortality deal is really worth it if i can never eat garlic again
no but seriously. how much garlic does it take to actually repel a vampire? there are no specific measurements as far as i’m aware, which on the one hand suggests that it’s just any amount at all, but on the other hand it makes vampires look kind of weak and shitty if they can be successfully warded off by a speck of garlic powder in my blood
vampire: now, i know you’re new to this whole vampirism thing, but using that much garlic in your cooking surely can’t agree with you-
me: buddy, i was lactose intolerant before i turned. i’ve suffered worse for less.
angel: aren’t you supposed to be repelled by salt? that must be so painful
demon: i’m already damned to eternal torment in hell, do you really think i’m going to torture myself with bland, unseasoned food as well? no thank you *pops another salt and vinegar chip in their mouth and winces*
faerie: you are aware that iron dampens our magic, right?
other faerie: i will die before i stop eating chocolate and that is a threat

“Well for what it’s worth, even if he isn’t happy about you being born, I am,” Callisto replied with a soft smile. “I don’t think an uncle would be nearly as cool,” she giggled lightly. “In all honesty, it wouldn’t surprise me. It is Professor Dumbledore, after all,” Callie mused. But she wasn’t sure how he would have known that she would leave dinner early from not being hungry. Just one of those Professor Dumbledore things, she supposed.
Callisto grinned at her aunt’s comment about Herbology being one of her favorites. “Charms is also fun,” she commented. “Though Care of Magical Creatures holds the spot for my absolute favorite,” she mused. After all, she did want to be a magizoologist. Not that she’d even breached that subject with her parents. They would never approve. “He can be rather grumpy at times,” Callie pointed out at her aunt’s omment about a certain somebody constantly glowering at her. When someone mentioned potions and glowering, one usually thought of Professor Snape. “More than likely. He does seem to be rather distant and distracted lately,” Callisto commented with the slightest frown. She smiled once more when Teri pushed her hair behind her ear. “Some nights yes. Other nights not so much,” she replied with a bit of a sigh.
Callisto smiled brightly and nodded. “That sounds fantastic,” she commented. “Both I suppose. But there’s just something about catching that perfect moment with muggle photography,” Callie mused thoughtfully.
“I’ve never done any, myself, but I had a roommate right out of school who’s Muggleborn, and she liked to take a lot of photos. She did a gorgeous series of pictures of various places around London, all black and white.”
She checked her watch, wondering where Dumbledore was but grateful that she had this time with her niece. Lucius and Narcissa didn’t like having her around, thought she was a bad influence on Callie. “I suppose your dad doesn’t know about your interest in the Muggle side of things. I can only imagine how apoplectic he’s get if he knew. Arrogant, bigoted bastard.”
Maybe she shouldn’t call him that in front of the man’s daughter, but it was true. He hated Muggles, and half-bloods, and anyone not in Slytherin. Which put his little sister firmly on the blacklist, since she’d been Sorted into Hufflepuff. Though he doted on Callie, and she wasn’t a Slytherin…
Callisto’s eyes lit up as Teri told her of her friend. Multiple places around London in black and white? It sounded marvelous. No doubt those photos were gorgeous. “That sounds great. It’s a hobby that varies greatly from person to person,” she mused.
Callie sighed and glanced down at her aunt’s inquiry. Then she shook her head. “Of course not. Even if the others weren’t around him all the time I could never tell him. He’d likely destroy all traces of the muggle tech I use for it,” she commented. “He was aghast enough just by me mentioning a future career in Magizoology,” she continued, pulling at her cardigan sleeves. She loved her father, but sometimes she felt like he didn’t care in the slightest about her happiness if it meant moving outside of the box he kept Draco in. The same one he tried to keep her in.
She shook the thoughts from her mind. “But oh well. I’ll do it whether he wants me to or not. And if he finds out and disapproves, no big deal. It wouldn’t be the first time he was angry or disappointed in me,” she shrugged.
Other nights not so much,” she replied with a bit of a sigh.
“Well, that’s to be expected, with all the things you’ve got happening at home.”
She didn’t want to bring up Lucius’s activities, but she had to ask, “Is everything alright there? I know what your father is into. I can’t stop him. But if you need a place to go, you can come to me.”
And if Callie needed to escape Lucius, or rather his…. friends, there was every chance Teri would need to pull her niece into the safety of the Order.
Callisto frowned slightly and nodded at her comment. No doubt that was the reasoning behind her lack of sleep.
Callie ran a hand through her hair and sighed softly. “He’s not quite gotten me involved. But the others have been making comments about it,” she answered. “I kept to my room as much as possible during the summer anytime they were all around,” she continued.
Mostly she was worried about her brother. Draco had always wanted nothing more than to make their father proud of him. He’d do anything asked of him if it meant father would look at him with even a little bit of pride. So he’d been very much wanting to be involved with the death eaters and Voldemort.
“I don’t like that they’re trying, or that they’re ignoring what we know. Well, the Ministry is, at any rate. I’ve never met Harry, but people I trust believe him, and frankly, things he said line up with what I know of… events.”
She sighed. “It’s your birthday soon. I haven’t bought you a gift yet, since I don’t know what you’d like. I’ve a few ideas, but why don’t you tell me?”
Callisto sighed and nodded in agreement. “I mean they don’t want panic but even with just rumors people will panic. If you ask me, it doesn’t make any sense,” she commented. “I do know Harry. I believe him a hundred percent,” she mused. “Even if I didn’t know it was the truth because of father,” she continued.
“Oh. Right. I suppose it is soon,” Callie commented, running a hand through her hair. “I haven’t thought much about it,” she said with a slight chuckle. “I mean I’m always up for more photography stuff,” she continued. “Or some sort of trip with just the two of us, maybe?”
//I was bored and made an aesthetic collage of Callie & Draco lol

Click. Click. Click. The tapping of her heels on the stone floor of the corridor was the only sound in this part of the castle, the voices of children in the great hall distant and blurry as Teri paced outside the door to Dumbledore’s office. The headmaster had summoned her from London but wasn’t in, the door hadn’t responded to the password, and she was getting tired of waiting. She hadn’t changed from work, and the kitten heels weren’t the best footwear for the ancient blocks of granite, better suited to the hardwood floors of her shop and flat back in Diagon Alley.
Impatiently, she checked her enchanted watch, which was self-winding. The students’ dinner hour was nearly over; maybe Albus would be along after, though why he’d told her to come immediately if he wasn’t going to meet her confused and frustrated her. Who knew how the old man’s mind worked? She just hoped he had some news on that spell they were trying to break.
She heard footsteps approaching; they sounded too light to be, say, Severus. Merlin, she didn’t want to see him tonight. She was already in enough of a sour mood. Teri knew it would look odd to be here, since she wasn’t a student or a teacher, but really, when the head of the Wizengamot summoned you, one couldn’t exactly refuse, right? So she leaned against the wall, crossed her feet at the ankles, and waited to see who came her way.

Callisto hadn’t been particularly hungry that night, for whatever reason. But her friend Caspar had convinced her to go anyways and to at least eat just a bit. She’d reluctantly agreed and gotten a bowl of soup and some salad. Though once that was gone she was rather over the socializing for the night. She’d claimed that she needed to study to head out without her friends giving her too much trouble. In all honesty, she would study a bit. But then likely head to bed. She was rather tired. Callie let her mind wander as she headed back towards the dorm room. That is until she heard someone that had been seemingly pacing before stopping. As it often did, her curiosity got the best of her and she found herself making her way towards the sound. The youngest Malfoy wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but it certainly hadn’t been her aunt. Soft gray eyes blinked in surprise before she called out “Aunt Teri? What in Merlin’s name are you doing here?” a bright grin crossed her features before turning to a slight frown, brows furrowed. “Is something wrong?” she questioned, not sure what reason her aunt would have to show up without letting her know.
She immediately relaxed at the sight of her niece. “Callie! No, darling, nothing’s wrong, to my knowledge.” Other than everything going on with Callie’s father and the return of the Dark Lord over the summer, that was. And the chaos that was Teri’s personal life. But she wasn’t going to burden the girl with that. “Your headmaster summoned me for some reason, that’s all. I’m waiting for him.”
She took a good look at her niece. She hadn’t seen the teenager in weeks, since the start of the school year. Was Callie taller now? Teri remembered when her niece had been born; it was still something of a surprise to realise Callisto was a young woman now.
“How are you? How are your classes going?”
Callisto sighed in relief at her aunt’s words. Thank goodness. The summer had held enough trouble to last her a lifetime, if she were being quite honest. She’d mainly just attempted to stay out of it as much as possible. “Professor Dumbledore summoned you and then didn’t show? Well that’s rather rude,” she mused lightly. Though she couldn’t help but to wonder why. Was it because of what happened during the summer? Not that they’d tell her, of course. Callie mentally shook her thoughts away. No reason to linger if she won’t know anyways. “I’m alright. Glad to be back in school and away from home,” she answered, slightly mumbling the last sentence. “Classes are going well. I’m especially enjoying herbology,” she answered the second question, a smile returning to her features.
