I’m a tiny blog on here who writes cute—but possibly delusional, scenarios surrounding seven lovely men. Besides that you’ll also find song recs by me, and reposts of gifs or unrelated (but aesthetic) photos ❥
There’s a chance I’m either online 24/7 or barely at all; it’s a bit unpredictable, but like my old @ said:
Being a last minute pet sitter was not in your to do list…
♡ ♡ ♡
A single flip of the light switch flooded your droopy eyes with intense luminosity.
Shuffling across endless carpeted floors below the lit ceilings, a peek out from your draped curtains would reveal soft tones of the early morning skies; you weren't sure how long the knocker at your apartment front door would wait—but took no remorse for hurrying.
The muffled sound of purring made you halt in your footsteps.
You scanned around the room, later brushing it off as drowsiness. It could've been because a blanket was wrapped over your body, but the back of your mind imagined sinking right into your comfy bedsheets—only for knocking to return, with urgency underneath it this time.
It had to be five am, that's what you assumed.
And you don't remember purchasing anything for it to arrive at this hour, but obliged in case it was a serious situation.
Yawning, you paced the hallway and the sight of your white door eventually appeared. The knocking amplified as you walked towards the entrance, but you paused once you're faced at it; a sigh extended out, and you stood on your tip toes to check through the vague peephole.
When their appearance is clarified, you then lethargically swung open your front door: Jimin.
What was he doing here? The question would never enter your mind, but while knowing his night owl habits, something was out of place: you noticed orange fur in Jimin arms.
Unable to pour out comprehended words at the moment, you simply pointed at whatever was in his grasp that he held onto dearly—between your sleepiness and the dim lights at the doorway entrance you couldn't make out much details.
Jimin smiled, like this was one of your casual conversations on a breezy afternoon while sharing a few refreshments.
His voice dipped into a whisper, "A cat."
"Uh huh," you nodded, then sucked in a deep breath "Jimin. I love you—but one: it's late, and two: why?"
"Morning," he corrected in the same tone, the a gray hood he wore concealed his face; yet underneath your exterior hallway lights, you recognized a temporary smirk across his lips.
"I know, I know, and I'm sorry. Let me explain..."
Right.
Long pauses interfered between you two, whereas he thought deeply to himself. The focused expression on his bare face replicated it, meanwhile you had crossed your arms over the loose sleepwear you wore and darted tired eyes at the benevolent cat.
Instead of explaining Jimin hugged the nonchalant stray cat closer into his arms with a pout.
"Let me in first?"
You pushed yourself off the side of the front door to usher him inside your apartment. After offering him a cup of hot coffee, or anything of his preference you'd both have whenever Jimin regularly visits, he dialed down on the choices and accepted coffee at the end.
During making the drink, your sight would trail back to the cat. It moved in a slow and hesitant pace, leaving Jimin arms as it walked weightlessly onto your pillowy sofa.
The cat closed its eyes, before laying down and curling up.
"I'm back," you entered the living room with two coffee mugs, handing one to a slouching Jimin who seemed deep in thought.
He began speaking, while you listened to his words, nodding often. Picking up your own mug of coffee, you stared down at the deep and dark liquid weighing the ceramic as swirls of creamer faded as you stirred carefully—a light steam rising in the air of the now illuminated living room.
Jimin continued, taking glances at the cozied animal.
"...I found them on in a corner, tucked beside some unopened shops. It was when I was going to pick up something for Jungkook and Taehyung." He sipped his coffee, "But I didn't want to leave the cat soaked in the rain, so."
"Do you mind caring for it for a few hours, please? I can't because of work, but you're the first person I thought of who to go to for this!"
Who were you to deny watching over a possibly lost cat? You knew your conscience, including your animal lover instincts would scold you to no end if you declined doing the task till he gets off of work. A heads up would've been nice, but knowing Jimin he probably texted or called while you were knocked out asleep.
From afar of the kitchen, you stared back at the cat who usually slept in the armchair on top of a fringed throw blanket. It rested its head over its own paw and a quiet aww leaped out of your mouth.
Going back to wiping the coffee grounds bits off your kitchen counter, fresh sunlight glowed behind the sheered living room curtains; it poured out as the sleeping kitten basked in its direction. Worried it'll hurt the cat eyes, you brushed back the curtains to the shield the half asleep animal.
But the cat surprisingly sat up and staggered its way back in the sunlight.
Ah.
The curtains in between your fingers slipped, falling back in place. Picking up an empty plate casted aside, you sighed at your messiness of earlier—but in your defense it was at the crack of dawn where cleaning was the last thing on your sleep ridden mind.
Eventually, your mind had magically also remembered about the unloaded laundry. It was inside of the dryer you've long forgotten about until now. So, you groaned and forced yourself up while collecting the remaining plate to dump it inside the kitchen sink.
Standing in front of the closeted washer and dryer compartment, you placed a green laundry basket down before hauling out tons of freshly clean clothes; when it's all packed together you stand up but gasped when a loud meow startled you.
"What are you doing in here?" You smiled at the wandering cat, crouching down to it.
Its claws were currently rested against the material of the basket, making you consider buying a scratch pad. Then again, you weren't aware you'd have any cat visitors today.
Careful, you held its tiny body with both hands like it was made of glass and lifted them up.
Its big rounded eyes bored into yours, but the cat remained well behaved. Whether it should've surprised you or not, the cat didn't react aggressively like you'd thought to the short walk at your bedroom.
After laying it down on a spare pillow the cat got up with a fierce sounding meow, and moved to another spot stubbornly.
It eventually left the room altogether.
"Hey..." you watched it stroll out the doorway, stalling your actions "Where are you going?"
The little cutie ignored your pleas, soon enough you could barely see the cat anymore in the hallway.
Folding laundry didn't bother you, it gave you an excuse to let your mind stall and actively focus onto the task. A folded shirt is then placed down on your bed, your hand automatically grabs a sprawled sweater and folded it up afterwards.
You broke free from your monotonous actions, then rushed out the bedroom to check on the suspiciously too quiet cat. It was viewing a decorative figure far above on a shelf, much to your luck the object was way out of reach for the cat.
"I'm here!" A cheery voiced entered the apartment.
Lifting up the watering can, you kneeled to the leafy plant with arrays of long vines climbing out of its plentiful burnt orange pot. You made sure to water and expose the easy plant to suitable sunlight, it had become the norm of your everyday schedules, along with the small pots of succulents.
You glanced over your shoulder, "Jimin?"
Apparent paws hits the ground and alerted you, when you whirled around the cat got near the harmless plant and sniffed it. This peach colored animal has been following you throughout the whole apartment, it never showed much affection—except meowing at you, as if having a short occasional conversation.
The cutie would always peer around the corner, like it was worried of losing sight of you.
Remembering its previous situation, you frowned.
Jimin footsteps approached you and he crouched down to run his fingers through the cat medium-ish fur.
"Someone's been warming up to the cat," he smiled.
You lowered the watering can to pet it too.
"I guess so," you hesitated, not wanting to hear Jimin taunt back an ‘I told you so’ he had a habit of doing that to you whenever he’s right about something. And this was one of them times, maybe it was a good idea agreeing to pet sit the cat.
"I wanted to see how you're both doing!" He chirped "has everything been okay so far?"
"Yep. It's been a pretty restful day…”
He hummed in response. The cat meowed softly as if reminding you both of its presence, and Jimin laughed "You must be hungry. Alright, let's go eat!"
Watching him stand up, Jimin was fast at taking out the canned cat food you’ve stored inside the fridge. Before Jimin left your apartment he omitted the small tins of food with him for the cat, you were incredibly grateful for his contribution of helping out.
Mainly, since it had never occurred to you to buy any pet food.
You were always pet less, then again.
Needless to say, the cat gobbled the food in seconds. Giving it water to wash the food down, you pitied its previous situation before it arrived here.
After some time you decided to take a break from your list of duties. Jimin had took over for you temporarily, saying you've done enough and playfully ordered you to now rest.
Sighing once you plopped onto your bed, you pulled out an laptop and turned it on for anything fun to watch on one of your streaming services. What felt like an hour passed by, making you close the tab of the last episode you've watched to do the most important task after your break.
Checking your work messages.
You were for sure it was ton, especially since the presentation you made about a few days ago. it's almost over, you went to your bedroom for the most important task for the day. So, you shifted in your position and crossed your legs considering you were going to be there for a long while.
The best part of working remote was how you'd never have to get dress formally. Or at least, not fully.
You logged on and heaved a sigh at endless scrolling you could predict.
As expected, time didn't fly by; it crawled and inched ever so slowly. A longing for seeing the cat or Jimin seeped in you, no matter how much you busied yourself.
Placing a palm over your forehead that ached, there's a dip into your white sheets along with two fuzzy paws. The cat "kneads" the bed as if making invisible biscuits unseen to you, then circled onto your huge mattress questionly.
"Want to see what I'm working on?" You paused, thinking of a nickname for the cat now looking at you.
"Curious. How about I call you that for now?"
You nearly drop your pen on the carpet when it collapsed gently onto the side of your leg; the cat meowed and reached outwards for you with its paws in the air. It wanted you to pet them!
And you did, it purred sleepily while you rubbed its belly.
Jimin walked into your bedroom mid in a question he was going to ask you, but stopped and raised his eyebrows in astonishment. A gleam shone in his eyes as he rushed to the mattress.
"That is the cutest thing I've seen."
A faint smile airbrushed over your lips, witnessing the two of them play. When you both looked at the soon asleep cat a lightbulb flickered in your head, and Jimin seemed to notice.
He moved closer, "What do have in mind?"
"Well," you gazed at the contented cat "nothing in particular."
But you couldn't deny yourself warming up to the possibility clingy cat.
A hot summer morning leaves you and Seokjin in a sweaty drought. Trying to survive the heat the best way you two can, the answer becomes obvious—buying popsicles.
♡ ♡ ♡
It was like you've magically transported to the Sahara desert this morning, and afar the startling sound of a frustrated shout awoken you just a little more.
That, or the uncomfortable wetness that clung onto your clothes.
Why was it so humid in here?
The tips of your nails tapped against your casted aside phone on your bed, and it revealed the lock screen which always managed to enlighten your attitude: one of your silly selfies with Seokjin included in it, corners of your mouth upturned before your unfocused gaze darted towards the words above the time.
June.
Huffing you finally dragged yourself out of bed and wiped your sweaty forehead, in a zombie-like trance sluggish footsteps took you to the center of the shared living room with your boyfriend Seokjin. While lingering thought of his whereabouts swam in your mind, it didn't hit you that he was right in front of you—well, his back was at you.
"What happened?" You muttered, sleepiness in your voice.
He acknowledged you with a glance, "Oh, you're awake! I'm surprised you can sleep through this heat." Seokjin then concentrated onto the temperature monitor again.
You watch him scratch his head and furrow his eyebrows. It shouldn't be hot in here, unless...
Seokjin noticed your expression.
"So, the air conditioning broke down last night. I've been trying to fix it since then." He lowered his head in defeat.
That’s why it felt warmer.
Taking in his words, you racked your brain for anything useful to say or suggest. But the only thing you do is grab ahold of Seokjin busied hands.
"Stop," you pull his hands down gently and sighed "you're going to tire yourself out, relax. I'm sure we have a spare fan...somewhere?"
He hopelessly shook his head.
Internally swearing to yourself, you think again, but slowly began to resent the sweltering air too around you both. Maybe it wasn't a good timing, but you craved anything cold to consume right now.
"Change clothes, I'll meet you outside."
He watched you turn to leave. Bewildered by your suddenness, he called out to you "Why?"
"First, as much as you're handsome—you're also sweaty; and second we're going to get snacks!"
Surprisingly, he ignored your first sentence and groaned “Outside is the last place we should go…”
“Just trust me.”
Before Seokjin can respond back, you hurried out the room.
You peered at the old fashioned running fan releasing cool air, it sat on the counter but you recognized the loose cords dangling lazily behind it.
Subconsciously, you pulled out your lip balm and untwisted the top then reapplied it. It was a habit. Seokjin whirled around to you, stopping in a random aisle but before he can say anything you beat him to it.
Smoothening the tinted balm, you spoke "Yep, I probably have tons of layers on right now. Wanna share it?"
"Hm," he replied with his gaze stuck on an item, walking towards you.
Seokjin fixed his posture to your height and neared to your face, you wouldn't lie that warmth bloomed over your cheeks but you lightened the moment by wiping the extra cherry flavored lip balm off your mouth; proceeding to then smear it across of his mouth.
He reacted dramatically, taking several steps backwards while you cackled.
Currently, you both were in a convenience shop looking for anything that would cool you down from the blazing heat. Resuming to your actions you followed Seokjin footsteps, his retro sneakers squeaked lightly against the shiny grid floor as its shoelaces slowly loosened—but he didn't notice it and instead tapped your arm.
"Hm?" You looked up at him, a subtle daze in your eyes by spacing out momentarily.
He pointed to an array of frozen treats residing inside of a large icebox with cartoony illustrations covered on it. When you two are standing in front of the icebox, Seokjin peers over your shoulders to view the cold snacks.
You glanced back at him "What is it?"
"It's so hot in here," He wiped his fringe covered forehead, then leaned closer to the slid opened icebox "this is somehow more cooling than the fan."
Admittedly, you couldn't help but agree yourself.
"Why don't you take off that—"
Before you can utter anymore words, you see that Seokjin already had your idea in mind: he shrugged off his lightweight cardigan like it was hot coal and tied it around his slim waist meanwhile you hurried up to pick out whatever the store had at the moment.
It weren't long when you two rung up the items and drinks, you lingered around the fan as you mentally prepared for braving the outside heat. After leaving the store both of you rested underneath a shaded area, and you were quick to take out your popsicle.
The crinkle noises of the summer treat you unwrapped caught Seokjin attention.
Nearly close to eating it, your name is called.
"What?" You give him a sideway glance, almost insulted that he disrupted you from taking a satisfying bite out of the juicy, cherry flavored frozen snack.
"I don't like the flavor, switch with me."
Your line of vision went down to the unopened lime flavored popsicle in his hand, you looked up at Seokjin again.
"Why did you get it if you don't like it?" You laughed.
Rolling his eyes, he answered, "I thought it was the shine muscat flavor! I'm so disappointed..."
"Sorry, but this is mine."
Seokjin gingerly linked his fingers together, showing you huge and glimmering dark eyes as the pout on his pink lips extended. And you automatically looked away, knowing this trick: aegyo.
It works on you, mostly. He knows that, thus, pulling it out whenever he can to persuade you into doing so and so.
You don’t even dislike lime, you just didn't feel like switching. For some unknown reason, your mouth was specifically ready for something cherry or strawberry flavored.
"Stop ignoring me." He said cutely, attempting to stay in character.
You tried to do exactly just that but was able to see him from the corner of your eyes, "Then stop looking at me like that."
Seokjin groaned and gave up, twirling the unopened popsicle in his hand with a bored look. You stared at it, wondering how it's still intact and not melted into a drink by now, then held out your popsicle.
"Fine," you showed it to him "take it."
You try to contain the smile wanting to appear on your face, but it unleashed when Seokjin innocently started to grab the popsicle but you yanked it from his view.
Laughing, you jogged away from him childishly.
He yelled your name and you hear his running footsteps behind you, making you speed up your pace. A question wondered in you, was Seokjin willing to actually chase you down for the single cherry flavored popsicle like it was a prized possession?
After what felt like an hour, you finally got your answer: yes.
Somewhat appalled yet astonished by his determination, when you stop in place to take a breath—you just had to have someone as athletic like Seokjin run after you, he's quick to follow behind. You raise your free hand up in defeat, then hand him the popsicle; switching to get the lime flavored one.
"Okay, you win this time." You unopened the icy popsicle and take a bite off of its sourness.
Watching Seokjin eats his, the red color stained his lips while the breeze flicked his dark bangs.
You both lugged the bags of packaged popsicles, ice cream bars, and cold drinks on the way to your place—wanting to race against the summer sun that threatened to burn against your skin.
Right, the air conditioning. It had hit you on the way there, and suddenly for the first time, you didn't want to return home to deal with a broken air conditioner for hours. Though, at least you'd both be comforted by the coolness from the stuff you bought at the convenience store.
"Should we have to go back?"
Seokjin tilted his head, "You don't want to?"
"Well," you crossed your arms "its nice outside. Plus the air conditioner still needs fixing."
Walking back to the pathway of both of your gigantic house, a groan escaped from you about the heat that'd welcome you both unkindly once the front door opens. Seokjin chuckled at your unserious rant before pecking his plump lips onto yours; making you get a little taste of the cherry flavor you had craved earlier. He unlocked the enamored design of the front door, also preparing for the overwhelming heat inside too, your rant had dwindled down.
"What's that for?" Not that you were complaining.
He glance at you with a closed smile.
"I was going to speak too, and—"
You both started to walk in, but halted in your footsteps at the warmth enclosed inside the house. Giving each other a knowing glance, Seokjin sighed and called maintenance as you grinned at going back outdoors to temporarily visit another place for however long.
Eyeing him when he got off the phone, you waited for across the house "You were saying?"
Seokjin rolled his eyes, probably for the tenth time, and met you. Linking both of your arms together, the two of you headed to wherever next on your unplanned mini adventure…
(AN) Sorry for how long I’ve been away, I hope you’re all doing fine and is having a lovely spring!
Maknae line vers.
Jimin
The long awaited and lively pink petals of cherry blossoms flooded the concrete sidewalk; crouching down to pick one up, you admired the flower in your gentle grasp and soon tucked it onto Jimin blond hair—it was a wonder on how long he'd sense it. Unfazed, he remained distracted…
“Look!”
Stopping your footsteps, you stared at the innocuous sight on the path. Your light frustration was vaporized by its cute face, and it was enough to bring Jimin back to earth too as he petted a short furred—and seemingly smiling dog.
Taehyung
Sunlight filtered through the leafy trees above, and casted a soft glow on him while he cheered at his win. You playfully rolled your eyes, and dropped your hand after another round of rock paper scissors: defeated.
Etching your finger into the beige picnic blanket, Taehyung crossed his legs and hummed an undeniable tune to himself.
"Taehyung?"
Instead of his recognizable baritone voice, a clear chirp responded. You flipped over and sat up in confusion, only to see a pretty blue jay as he oohed at the sight of it.
“I guess they liked your melody.” You commented.
Jungkook
"Catch!"
You tossed the golden french fry, and he impressively caught it inside his mouth without hesitation.
Jungkook rubbed his stomach in circles, wearing a satisfied smile "That was tasty…”
Before you could start, a fluttering butterfly joined you both onto the edge of the white table. You briefly noticed it while Jungkook took out another fry from the paper bag, and began to return the toss to you—but you stopped him. It didn’t take long before he noticed the lilac colored winged insect too, he whirled around at the butterfly with his lips formed into an O.
It wandered around you two. Then, it darted directly in Jungkook face as a laugh erupted out by you at his dazed reaction. Soon the curious butterfly left, with a fun memory for you both to possibly reminisce about in the future.
A whole day at an aquarium turns into a bashful encounter. Specifically, with a stranger who’ll become more than that till the end…
(AN) Happy birthday to this wonderful human! 🍊 🐱 🐠
♡ ♡ ♡
"Come on, come on—I can't wait!"
Your best friend eagerness bounce off of you like an energetic ball, and onto to your unfortunate back being shoved inside of the subway by her sheer exhilaration.
Promptly, you faced her "Yeah. I can tell that, Mina.”
Faking a frown, she jokingly hit your arm before you both hurried to a spot. Debating on the middle row, you come to an agreement and slumped into the two seater; Mina let out an sigh as she comfortably rested her head onto her balled hand, aware of her enjoyment of staring off into the scenic window view you didn’t bother her.
You couldn’t blame her either. Between the wispy clouds, tidbits of life, and the therapeutic sunsets you undoubtedly understood her fondness for it. Mina face expressed tranquility, but you knew she was mentally jumping up and down in the seat next to you.
It was her birthday, and what better time it would be than to visit the most popular aquarium? She's been buzzing about taking you both there, but unfortunately you were always busy until today.
The thought of it tickled inside of you. To control your hidden joy, you unzipped the khaki tote bag in between your legs and pulled out what has always kept you absorbed in your own bubble: a sketchbook—after tapping its sticker covered surface, and giving the subway a quick scan you flipped it open.
It was out of habit. Of course, drawing in public wasn’t a crime but still.
Actually, it was a sparse amount of people somewhere in their own world; you and Mina, an elderly man reading, and a business woman stoically typing away on her laptop.
Looks like you two have avoided the bustling crowd.
Reading the silent “room”—except the occasional laptop clicking, you were mindful at taking out your pencil and pens, ideas juggling in your mind on whatever to sketch. Nothing obscure or eccentric has sparked your creativity, as you twirled the pen gripped into your hand out of pure boredom.
Unlike your previous art session, you couldn’t get in artist mode. Which normally meant everything around you would faded, with the only subject riveting enough being the art.
At least, until something or someone would distract you.
Forcing yourself to form something on paper, the pen scribbled lightly onto the black sheet and you decided to just doodle the seats in front of you. Once getting the basics down, you paused to observe the sketch. Would it be a good idea to add more details?
The subway sped up and you jolted out of your trance, just in time when your pen slips out your grip. You watched your pen roll further away endlessly over the floor to hiding underneath a seat, and swore softly.
A stranger's hand then reached for the pen.
"Yours?" They barely glanced at you, their voice was above a whisper. Almost like they were concealing their existence, but you didn’t linger onto it for too long and nodded.
He tossed it to you.
Successfully, you caught the pencil and said a curt thank you but eyed him secretly as you continued drawing.
How did you not notice them on the bus too? In your defense, it took you awhile to realize there was someone else staring at their phone screen with a black hood over their head in the corner of the bus. Interestingly enough, while their aura was mysterious they didn't signal any dangerous behavior.
Oh well, who were you to judge them?
You thanked the kind stranger again in your head as if he magically had telepathy, and moved on when Mina had grabbed your attention.
Latched onto each other with your arms wrapped together, you both walked liberally side by side inside of the gigantic mall. Giggling through a silly conversation you two window shopped, until halting in place at the next location of the presumably aquarium.
Its gorgeous details captivated your sights with its relaxing swirly waters, and its bright hand painted fishes that spelled whimsy. Not to mention the obvious: the vertical fish tanks, the sprouted and tall sea plants swayed leisurely in the aqua waters while Mina gawked at the mesmerizing sight.
She suddenly took your hand, and pulled you inside the interior of the huge aquarium.
The process to get in was quick.
Mina clicked and slid her manicured nails over the phone screen, while you waited and daydreamed of the wonderful marine creatures you'll see. Not that you were a sea life fanatic or anything, but you couldn't deny your newfound interest too.
"Let's go!" she whirled her head to you, a grin etched over her face.
To preface, it was dark inside but the blue luminosity hues helped. Overwhelmed by its diverse choices, you looked at Mina to lead the way to wherever she wanted to go and followed at an area filled with playful swimming seals.
You both awed at the ocean version of puppies, as they looked back with its ginormous eyes. Mina toggled on her phone briefly before holding it up, wanting to film the seals and you both.
It was at that moment you regretted your outfit.
Indecisive on what to wear that morning, the ticking time held no remorse at your possible lateness which made you just decide into wearing an underdressed look. Mina told you countless times you looked fine, and at first you agreed with full confidence but then it popped.
Soon you both separated and roamed the spacious place.
Tired on your feet after visiting what felt like several habitats, you slumped on a bench to rest aching soles to witness group of bold colored rainbow-eques fishes in front of you.
Wondering whether you should snap a photo of the vibrate image, you sketched it instead.
At least, at first until you remembered you had brought only two monotone supplies. You wished you had brought a couple of colored pencils or markers, but it made sense—you never anticipated drawing here.
So, you took a quick photo without your flash on and smiled at it afterwards before allowing your sight to relax on the happy fishes.
But something else caught your eyes.
There was a group of guys bundled together like their life depended on it, and shared highly different reactions to the aquatic environment. Yet, one of them stood out to you.
His dark hair dangled over his face, he pushed it back with his fingers to finally reveal his identity; the teal glow of the aquarium water reflected over his porcelain skin, and doll like features as he stared at one of the creatures, wearing an intense gaze. The guy lips barely upturned at one of his friend quips, while he meandered at a peaceful pace distance afar.
Locked in his beauty you were glad Mina wasn't beside you right now, she'd tease you endlessly for staring.
Changing the subject of your view, the pencil you held automatically made a sketch of the unassuming guy unaware of your current presence. But a sharp gasp darted out your mouth, and your heart plummeted when you both made direct eye contact.
You wanted to melt on the patterned ground.
Face growing hot, you slammed your sketchbook shut and glanced around the area to pretend something else had gained your attention in the moment.
His eyes were pretty.
"Saw something?"
Jumping, you swiveled to a gleeful Mina now sitting beside you and peeking over your shoulder. Did she see it all?
Her next words confirmed it: “You were totally ogling at him!” She beamed, leaning forward in anticipation of you spilling out the rest of the details.
"N-no..." your face flushed at her sudden accusation, but the swarm of butterflies fluttering inside of your stomach said otherwise. It was just an accidental glimpse, you didn't want it to turn into a dramatic scene.
"Exactly," Mina stated firmly.
Hoping she’ll change the topic, she luckily does to share her adoration of the seahorses she saw. Following the directions to spot it too, you both watched the intricate animals; an iridescent one floated into your view with its tiny opaque fins, a coral hued seahorse was calmly drifting beside it.
You must admit, coming here had made you more aware of sea animals cuteness.
Taking a step back you accidentally bumped into someone as Mina remained distracted, wandering by a different fish tank.
"Um, sorry. I'll move out the—" you started, shaking your head at your absentminded actions.
The voice sounded familiar, "Oh, it's fine."
Turning your head back, your eyes widened when you saw the face. He was much better looking up close but you ignored your internal swooning, and tried thinking of what to say yet remained quiet and awkwardly scooted away to give him space.
A few minutes passed before he spoke up again.
"Are you an artist?"
"Wha—uh, yeah. How'd you know?" You furrowed your eyebrows, staring at something else to act nonchalant.
He straightened his back from peering down, "Well, it's kinda obvious..."
By the guilty expression on your face it probably was.
Crossing your arms, you don't respond. It wasn't out of rudeness but because you weren't sure how to after being called out—or was it the space between you two slowly closing.
He pointed at a seahorse, "Hey, did you know that they can change color?"
"How so?"
"They have special pigment cells called chromatophores, which causes that and it's embedded..." he explained, the more he talked about this information you swore you saw his eyes lit up in talking about it.
And it made you fully face the guy with curiosity.
You both chatted. He’d tell you all kinds of fascinating facts of the marine animals and its life. Whenever you'd ask him how he knows so much about them, the guy would shrug and confess his hyper fixation on certain things.
Eventually, out a random conversation you also learned his name is Yoongi.
Shocked by his personality, you assumed he was a serious person, but laughed a ton at Yoongi jokes and humor. It was quite similar to yours, but hearing it come from him made you think he might've been funnier than you.
"When fishes go to sleep, they can also close their eyes like us."
Pausing, you glanced at him to see if was kidding or not before snickering. The straight face he wore made it hard to tell.
He scoffed, smirking, "What? It's true."
"You made that up."
A grin unraveled its way over his face, "Okay, you caught me red handed. But in that case what facts to you know?"
Now it was your turn to trick him. Or get a satisfying laugh out of the guy.
You conjured up the silliest fact you could.
"That's definitely not true." Yoongi laughed, "but you're close."
Walking into a room full of glowing jellyfishes behind the tank, you both were pulled towards the unreal scene like it was magnetic along with the onlooking visitors. You stared through the glass in awe, while Yoongi joined you closely.
He murmured something, bits of it slipped into your comprehension and you glanced at him.
"It's your birthday?"
You were quick to wish him a happy birthday, and he deeply appreciated your wishes.
Idling to yourselves away from the small crowd, you both got onto the topics of friendships, lifestyles, along with hobbies. Though, you were way too shy at discussing your most passionate one. Art.
Holding the sketchbook to your chest, you slowly placed it on your lap. Yoongi nonjudgmental attitude had made you comfortable enough to share a little of your art. As you flipped through white pages, your fingers accidentally turned to the sketch from earlier.
Prepared for him to be weirded out, and having to avoid his face for the rest of your day you spluttered out an apology.
"Oh my god, I'm so…”
"Woah!" Yoongi adored the unfinished pencil drawing of him, his inquisitive eyes roaming its entire page "You're amazing, I-I'm glad I could be your muse for today." He chuckled, but it was a benevolent one.
Pushing his arm lightly to control his ego from flaring up, you both broke into laughter before realizing it was time to part ways just when Mina approached you two. Meeting Mina she observed him, then soon fawned over them having the same birthday. Whereas, you watched in delight at their opposite reactions.
Hope and doubt tussled in your head once he turned away, probably to regroup with his friends. Conflicted, you stood frozen.
You didn't want this to be the last interaction with him.
It's as if Mina could read your mind. She studied you, deciding to help make the decision by mouthing a "do it" chant.
