And evidently, he gave one to Shiba.

Did Shiba specifically ask him to forge one for his junior? Tell him what kind of person Mashiro is? Or did Rokuhira just give it unprompted, trusting that Shiba would abide by his principles when he passed it on? Either way it’s a massive display of trust. But it’s always struck me that Shiba grew up with a swordsmith and never learned to wield one himself.

…Does Shiba not consider himself the kind of good person who would be worthy of his friend’s katana?

What if the Soga clan got mass exterminated during the Seitei war?

Like Momhiro went back to the Soga estate to have Chihiro and the estate was under attack.

She hid Chihiro and pretended to be pregnant so when she died the enemies would think the child dies with her?

And now the only two survivors of the Soga clan is Chihiro and Akemura hence that’s why Shiba is so loyal to Chihiro he is the last good living member of the Soga clan?

Shiba was bosom siblings with Momhiro?

Hence he was protecting her from enemies their entire childhood and hence was dubbed “Soga clan’s guardian”

Her last wish before she died or ran away could have been “to live not only as Kunishige’s friend but Chihiro’s guardian too”

It can explain why in the character profiles Shiba is not named as a family friend because he is literally Chihiro’s god father.

Just wondering about Shiba's condition at train station. When other people overheat due to sorcery overuse, they immediately get a nosebleed, no heavy breathing beforehand. Hakuri, Kyora, Ikuto… none of them showed any shortness of breath first. Only Shiba did, which is honestly really weird.

If it’s not because Hokazono doesn’t want Shiba to lose even a single drop of blood right now (why though), and not because Shiba doesn't even want to risk getting nosebleed when Akemura was killing Chihiro, the only thing I can think of is that Shiba’s body is fundamentally different from the others. That would explain why when his sorcery energy runs out, he starts gasping for air instead of getting a nosebleed.

There was also that scene where Shiba rushed to Rokuhira’s house and he was clearly out of breath there. Honestly I didn’t think much of it earlier, I just assumed he was tired from rushing or being in panic. But what if that wasn’t the case? what if it's because the Hishaku were deliberately draining his sorcery energy so badly that he had to rest and ended up being 10 seconds late? They got info from Kasen who probably could have access to Shiba's physical profile and all.

If that’s the case, the question is why does Shiba show signs of sorcery oversuse exhaustion differently from others?

My headcanon is that Shiba has his heart on the right side. People with dextrocardia can have weaker hearts and lungs, so they get fatigued more easily. Him having an unusual heart, or other mirrored organs (situs inversus), could also explain why he’s an outlier, the pinnacle who can use sorcery to its absolute maximum.
