While there was a moment of relief for their two friends, Chris had sat down on the heavy box that was assumingly for the air conditioning system for the whole building. He hadn't said a word since that moment of excitement had passed and slipped into a solemn silence. He had a hand on his bristle covered chin, in a heavy contemplating haze. He glanced at the building they were on. On the building was a heavy cord... Was it for television service, or electricity? He felt like they had to keep going; he just had a bad feeling about staying put for too long. The distance between the buildings was about ten feet. If they had a running start.... They could probably make it. It was slightly shorter then this building which would give them the advantage. Chris's gaze went to his sister for a moment, with thoughts if she could make something like that, too. He had some doubt, but she WAS his sister. Even without much experience, she was a natural at everything she did. That was a great thing about his little sister.
"What do you think we should do...? I have an idea, but I know my genius sister might come up with something a little better." He gave a smile that seemed like it was forced... all too painful for the situation they were in. They'd survive, of course they would, but being in this.... it was hard and only left nightmares for months.
Chris really looked deterred by all of this; which was a troubling thing within his self. He wasn't the type of guy to give up ever, his stubborn streak never allowed for it. This time though, he really looked discouraged by it all.
"I'm trying to think about where Leon would start looking, if he came for us." The kid wouldn't just let a copter come for them. He'd come running too. That was just the type of guy Leon was; He never knew went to stay out of it. "I'm not even sure if he's here or not, but if he's on the streets, He'll never find us... I'm thinking.......... We might need to head down there." Chris knew how dangerous it was, but he couldn't think of anything else. They were safe right now, but knowing Leon, they'd.... have to dive right back into danger to find him, that is... if he was looking for them- No, he was absolutely sure Leon hauled himself out here just for them. He would never just let a Helicopter come for them, with him waiting. He had a death wish; He had to. "It's whatever you think, though. I just hope you've got something better up your sleeve, Sis."
Claire paced back and forth along the roof, the constant motion helping her from going stir crazy and letting her think more easily. It was a seriously bad situation, but she wasn't going to despair and give up. You just didn't do that, especially after surviving so many of these situations. All a person could do was to take charge and get themselves to safety.
In Raccoon, panic had threatened to overtake her, but at least Leon had been there for her, even when they were separated. Just knowing he was out there, going through the same thing she was, looking for her...that made a difference. And of course she'd come across Sherry and felt responsible for her. By the time she got to Rockfort Island she'd toughened up. It had been stupid charging into Umbrella, but after the terrors in the city, she'd had to find her brother. Unfortunately she found herself in handcuffs on a helicopter to a remote island. But then she'd met Steve and--
No, now wasn't the time to think about Steve. After that, she'd taken a more passive side, taking the role of rescuer as Leon had told her during the airport incident. By that point, she was practically a T-virus veteran, and since she'd lived through three outbreaks, there was no way in hell she was going to lose to a fourth challenge. Screw that.
The fact that the earlier helicopter had bypassed them just made her angry and fueled her desire to get out. She could see that tired, discouraged look on her brother's face and told herself she couldn't let herself get that way as well. They needed to be strong and persevere; they were Redfields, damnit.
"I really don't have a plan right now, so anything you have to work with would be good."
She stopped pacing and turned to her brother, hands crossed over her chest. Obviously heading back down the stairs was out, so that meant they could try to climb down--not a good idea--or maybe jump to the building beside them. Her stormy gaze drifted over to the other building, attempting to gauge the distance. It seemed like they could make it, since both of them were pretty athletic. But then what? Could they risk going inside? Or maybe there was a fire escape...
"Actually...you want to jump, don't you?" she asked, turning her attention back to Chris. She knew her brother very well, knew that he would come up with a simple plan based on what he saw. Not that he wasn't smart--he was just brash. "Fine, then let's do it."
She dropped her arms and walked over to the edge, frowning slightly. It was a decent drop, but if Chris went first, he could grab her if she didn't quite make it. Though she was determined to get across. How lame would it be to live through multiple zombie outbreaks and then fall off a building?
"I think the bigger problem is gonna be finding Leon. I really thought he'd come flying in, but I guess I'm just being too hopeful." A massive city outbreak was a lot different than sending a few people to the airport in an attempt to look good.
The odds of finding each other in the city suddenly seemed overwhelming. How could they hope to just bump into him? At this rate, they were going to be bailing Leon out of a jam, not the other way around. It had been a bad idea to contact him, and if anything happened to him she'd never be able to forgive herself.
Hope you're okay, Leon...
"All right. After you, big bro."
