I thought things would be different.

You gave a spark of hope

Which I relied on to guide me through this dark abyss.

But there truly is no end to this tunnel.

That spark withered away with

the last shred of my soul.

The last bit of my patience.

The last piece of me.

Gone.

Lost forever.

Dead.

The path is never ending but I’ve reached the end of my line.

But I push forward,

Not driven by hope,

Not driven by what trails behind me,

Not driven at all.

I trudge forth with

No goal,

No soul,

No clue as to why I still try

With nothing at all.

Not even myself.

My true self had died long ago

Along with my innocence.

All that is left is a barren shell of what used to be a human being.

A human being that tried.

That tried to be the best they can be.

That tried to love and be loved.

That tried to be happy.

That believed anything was possible,

But
