there isn’t enough angst about segment 8. like yeah that’s baby zandik and that’s how the fandom is treating him BUT also

imagine being 8 years old and having to conceptualise the fact you’re not real and also never gonna grow up and also just a soul slice of your future self who is also the ‘real’ you but not really. oh and also you’re surrounded entirely by various future versions of yourself and have to come to terms with the fact that’s how you turn out. or would if you could grow up. which you can’t. cause you’re not even real.

For me in the AU, it was fundamentally important to leave Pantalone as a simple mortal human. He is quite old (around 80, I think?), but thanks to the Doctor's efforts, he maintains an excellent appearance and health. My Pantalone is a hypochondriac rich man who is obsessed with youth and "eternal life."
