Finished these designs a bit ago and colored them!! I love them sooo dearly... I have been writing a lot about my uncorrupted/passive versions of them. Probably going to post a short story I have of them on here at some point! Anyways... hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do. Just an FYI that when I say "passive" that doesn't mean they're children! Simply just using it to refer to pre-apple event, or a timeline where Nightmare doesn't corrupt.

I look on other platforms and a common comment about atrophy is “why is nightmare green”

I actually forgot nightmare wasn’t green. When drawing that yaoi in my last post I realized just how different they look.

No wonder ppl don’t care about atrophy.

People like my other designs when it’s horror or dream or ink because they kinda resemble the base material but Atrophy looks wildly different in shape, color, clothes, and mannerisms.

I’ve been kinda hard on myself because i think people don’t actually care about nightwatch and just like the original stuff- which is mostly true. But I have to get into my head that people will get a chance to attach to them when they have the full story.

There is always an option for a patreon where you have it for people to support you, but it's not mandatory for any content?

I never really considered a patreon as a option. Mostly because I don’t think there’s people out there who would want to support me.

I also don’t know what I’d make in exchange for support- don’t I have to make things for people if they support me? Maybe I have a fundamental misunderstanding of what it is haha.

It’d be sweet but I don’t think there will be people who would want to spend their money on that. All I could give is like early panel leaks and concept art, which isn’t much

I’m terrified of how censored the internet is becoming.

The Uks Child safety act was one thing but the shitty demon that keeps coming back is KOSA. KOSA is an American act that keeps being denied but is coming back again and again. Rn it’s coming back for another round.

If it passes you’ll need to give government issued ID to access whatever is deemed “adult material”. This could be porn to political education to sex education to whatever the US government deems inappropriate.

Imagine having to access a website about transitioning and having to give your government ID so now it’s on record that you’ve accessed a trans website. If you want information on ongoing genocide your ID is on record, if you want information on ICE your ID is on record.

Sex education, abortion, mental health, queer online community- so much is at stake with this bill and similarly with other bills being passed around the world.

This also means the death of fandom spaces. Most fandom servers are under US Law and would have to comply with the censorship. I’m not American but I really really do worry because if KOSA passes it’ll be a blueprint for other countries.

Outside of KOSA we already are seeing just normal age verification on other sites with the introduction to AI. I just had to give fucking Roblox my passport in order for an AI to allow me to play horse life. Same with YouTube.

I dunno it’s crazy. If you’re American please do what you can to call your local lawmakers.

It’s a control thing, no one will really get it in the beginning of nightwatch but atrophy’s relationship with horror isn’t a one sided power dynamic. Horror has quite a lot of power over Atrophy.

Hence the vague title “a man and his dog”. In most posts Horror is compared to a dog but in a lot of ways Atrophy is in a no better in his circumstance. Horror controls and makes the food Atrophy gets- Atrophy has a very,,, bad relationship with people feeding him let’s just say.

Yes Atrophy owns Horror but Horror has him on a leash. He puts the food in his mouth, helps him get dressed, helps him live comfortable. Without him Atrophy would be nothing and Atrophy isn’t aware of that but Horror very much is.

Horror likes Atrophys dependancy and Atrophys pride and indulgence blinds him from the threat he’s created. Atrophys eyes are looking elsewhere in the drawing and he’s relaxed and enjoying the lavish treats he receives- Horror looks downwards straight at him holding his tie and his food confidently.

Bleh there’s always lots a symbolism in my art but uh

I mean my other explanation is it’s also yaoi, I do love toxic yaoi between horrible horrible men

Rewriting some posts for the archives- Here’s an Atrophy post on his body

(I was stupid and accidentally posted this to the archive page so here’s the repost 😭)

Atrophy is all goo no bones. When he ate the tree there was so much potent corruption that it melted his entire skeleton into a green mouldy sludge. The remnants of his soul are infused with the mush.

Because he’s mold he can grow fungus like blooms and little sprouts on his body. The more starved he is the more unpredictable the growth and structure of his body looks. If he’s well fed he’s essentially spotless, if he’s starving his body becomes more inconsistent in shapes and texture.

Atrophy feeds off of pain. Because his organs are gooped there’s no system for him to even attempt digesting food, it would just go in him and merge with the sludge. Although, chemicals in potent doseages are affective if you put them in atrophy. For example: he drinks a lot of wine, not just because he loves it but he needs more than 7 bottles to even get slightly tipsy.

When atrophy is starved he can grow tounges, teeth, and sharp spines as it’s his body desperately trying to lure something in to kill-just for a breif moment of pain for atrophy to feed off of. The more hungry he is the less straight he can think and he almost regresses into a carnivorous plant.

When he’s happy and full his body is much more controllable for him. He can shape shift more accurately too. His tendrils will be longer and thicker as that’s him storing his excess body goo. He puts all of the extra slime into those so he can have a more humanoid masculine look.

Atrophy also doesn’t walk much, he may look like he’s standing or walking but in reality he’s putting all his weight in his tentacles that carry him around. He uses them as makeshift chairs and tables for his comfort.

He also doesn’t like his earthy plant smell, so he covers himself in cologne

It’s important to note he doesn’t eat whole trees anymore, Atrophy is a grown man now and understands tree bark isn’t a refined palette of his tastes. He looks back on those memories a little embarrassed at his unabashed gluttony.

Athropy is so cunty I love him *explodes*

You haven’t even seen his cunty-est form yet. Just baseline design he’s radiating it.

He’s lived 700 years and his biggest take from it (aside from toxic masculinity )is that life isn’t worth living if you’re not hot

For awhile it made him miserable that no one could see his outfits (aside from horror but that guy doesn’t care) so it made him pretty happy when psych started to get involved

Fresh eyes to gawk at his radiance yk?

This is also my explanation to why he’s so huge and conventionally attractively shaped.. he just chooses to be that. He wants to be beautiful
